Phantasialand: General Discussion

RCDB have added some great new photos of Taron to their Facebook page:

That's a very good point, I wonder if they have used it for some inspiration? I reckon they might have!

:)

Dear lord... That ride really is going to be huge!! I know perspective comes into play here, but when compared to the size of Chiapas and Even Black Mamba, that site is phenomenally huge!! And that doesn't even take into account the scale of the rock-work structures, let alone the massive trench they have dug.

Great to see some good quality ariel pictures of the rest of the park too. Just a shame that last photo is slightly the wrong angle to catch a glimpse of 'Wuze Ball' though!

That gives a much better idea of the scale of the ride than the ground level shots we've seen so far - it's a lot bigger than I thought it was!

I'd forgotten about the roof top Phantasialand logo too, presumably that's mainly there for people looking at the park on Google maps (other mapping websites are available) as I don't think you can see it from anywhere inside the park.

Don't forget the rumoured Vekoma Family coaster that's supposed to go in the area too! I wonder of they could intertwine the family coaster with Taron?

:)

They're sticking another sodding coaster in on the site too?

Seriously, what sort of drugs were the minds behind this on, and where can I obtain some?

Looking at the space, there is room.

Also, it should be noted that Phantasialand have not added a coaster in 10 years - so they're well overdue one (or two!).

A kiddie coaster will also fill a gap in the line up.

Wow, this ride looks massive and mightily impressive and if Chiapas is anything to go by, then it should probably look visually stunning.

I'm yet to visit Phantasia, but am hoping to visit in the near future as dare I say that this park seems to one of the fastest progressing ones in Europe so far?

I wouldn't really say Phantasialand has progressed in terms of expanding; it can't. It is retaining a similar number of guests whilst replacing older attractions (it may surprise you to learn they get less than 2m guests a year, which is over 2m less than Efteling and 3m less than EP).

Phantasialand have always themed quite heavily - their 1970s attractions were ahead of their time in terms of thematic experience.

This is their first new rollercoaster in 10 years, remember.

Improving most definitely, but it's not progressing in terms of growing in the way that Europa-Park or Efteling solely add to existing attractions.

It just gets better and better. I do hope that they release a model sometime soon like they did with Chiapas.

:)

Fellow member Dar is at the park and has kindly given me permission to share these two photos that has posted on Facebook:

I can't wait to find out what they're doing with the middle of the site and that hole!

:)

For reference, there was a digger at the bottom of the hole with only the very top of the boom arm visible! Whatever they're doing, they're going deep to do it!

Some slightly unexpected news from Phantasialand:
Screamscape said:
In a shocking news story, the Phantasialand theme park was the victim of two burglars who used the on-going festivities from the park's "Fantasypride" event to mask their break-in to the park's ticket building. They first broke into a building next door and smashed a hole through the wall between the two to get past the alarm system on the door, and then proceeded to open the safe after obtaining the hidden key, and made away with an estimated 1 million Euro. The theft went undiscovered until the next morning, long after they were gone, but it seems clear that they had help and intel from someone on the inside.

Ooops! That's a lot of money.

:)
