The more I see of Rookburgh, the more I like it! The area looks stunning and packed to the brim with details, and controversially, I actually think I like it more than Klugheim if photos and videos are anything to go by!

Love it, definite BioShock Infinite vibes even the F.L.Y track is basically Skylines.

This just makes me sad. With all the restrictions that Phantasialand has, they can still build something as beautiful as this. Why are we (UK), so far behind in terms of innovation, creativity and just general willingness to try something new. That flying coaster sounds so smooth aswell.

I must admit, the fact the hotel surrounds the coaster is incredibly cool. But agreed that a room of that size isn't acceptable at such a price.

Still probably going to pay it anyway before the end of the year, mind.

Has anybody spotted a more in-depth ride report? It goes to show just how excellent Phantasialand's theming and concepts are that they've overshadowed a new, prototype flying coaster. From the videos, it looks like it's pretty nippy, bolstered by the interactions. Obviously it's no Taron, but what is?

Seen a few bits on the ride, general consensus is it’s relatively tame compared to B&M flyers but a lot of fun. Also not as much “dark ride” as some reviewers expected.

It looks incredibly well themed which comes as no surprise given the park but the early reviews suggest it's incredibly tame. And I'm not a great fan of flying coasters anyway so it's not something I'm rushing to go do.

Stunning themeing and surrounding area though. They really do work their magic given their modest budget.

By Phantasialand's standards, this doesn't look very well themed.

It's certainly nowhere near the level of Taron, Chiapas or Mamba.

I think it looks fine, it's just a different, more industrialised style of theming. I suppose it lacks the intricate rock and environmental work of the others, but looks to have plenty of depth and detail given the limited size.

I think it looks brilliant! Vekoma seem to have done the job right again which I'm pleased about and the theming is better on the inside than the facade of CL was. And let's be honest would you rather have that Race for Atlantis attraction there or Rookburgh, FLY and Hotel Charles Lindbergh?

Sorry if it’s a daft question but where is the second launch!? Is it in parrell with the first one?

I absolutely adore the theme of this and I honestly can’t wait to get out there at some point next year.

Might write up something more detailed later but I was there today and very impressed. They've certainly upped their standard in many regards - its totally enclosed from the rest of the park and outside world, you are engulfed by the surrounding theming. It doesn't get more immersive then this. The queue and "boarding experience" is great and so well thought out, great use of media and effects. The detail, layers, depth and effects through the area are great too. Despite being a fan of the park and having followed the project closely I was quite surprised by many things.
It all just fits together in such a lively, dynamic package - area, coaster, shops and restaurant. The hotel looks like it will add another great dimension to the experience.
The coaster is great fun, smooth, provides such a great sensation of flight and airtime moments. Its runs like clockwork too - Zero downtime within the first 2 days. Considering it looks and sounds a fairly complex system quite surprised again.
Personally its been worth the wait!

I'd hope it works properly, given how long it's been since they finished the ride.

Sounds good though, hopefully travel will be possible in December and I'll be able to ride before the end of the year.

Would you mind elaborating on the "boarding experience"? (probably good to put it within a spoiler tag)

Essentially the set up for baggage and safety.
Once the queue goes underground towards the station, you enter a large circular room with an animatronic in the centre and 4 projections around showing a themed safety/instructions video (preshow) with multi-lingual subtitles preparing you for your flight and what to do next. All bags and loose articles need to placed in lockers, the system is like Arthur at Europa Park but uses a wristband instead of a ticket. Following the baggage lockers you go through security - metal detectors to ensure no one is carrying anything and everything is in the lockers.
It's all well themed and set up as part of your flight experience so doesn't stick out as immersion breaking. Nice painted murals and posters remind you to empty your pockets.
After security you go to the gates for your flight (the station) which in its self is amazingly themed like a Victorian metro station nearly with a great lighting package for when trains enter and exit. Tubes in the machinery where guests wait even change colour with the track lighting. Also media is used here with screens showing how to correctly board and close your restraints.

On reflection what he says, Taron is still better but he loves Rookburgh more than Klugheim! It's interesting to see how it falls into the flying position without holding you on the brake run for 3 minutes!
