Plopsaland De Panne General Discussion

That has to be one of the campest ride names/logo's I've seen. Wouldn't mind a good go on Heidi myself :)

Edit - Someone's going to tell me Heidi is some type of child character now aren't they haha.

Yes, I do believe that is Heidi, the small female in said camp log. I have to say it's a god awful name but quite possibly one of the most fabulous things I have ever seen!!

Heidi? Very kiddified considering it's quite a thrilling coaster.

Lest we forget that Plopsaland also has the imaginatively named "Anubis - The Ride" and "Supersplash"...

Heidi is clearly flavour of the month, much like how they added loads of Vic the Viking stuff over the last few years at their parks (including renaming/theming their two Indoor park creds to it)...

Think their aim as well is to use the Alpine theme of Heidi to their advantage with the design of the coaster... So it makes sense...

You can also watch the TV show on Netflix btw...

The name and logo may not be that impressive but the concpets for the theming certainly are:

I love Plopsa's theming!

:)

Seen on CoasterForce that this will get its theming in 2017, with the ride opening 2016

This new "theme it later" fad is all well and good with parks that follow though with it. But how long will it be until Merlin cotton on to this and start building unthemed rides... then leaving them that way?

Been a long while since we had an update on this so here we go:

Not sure when this is due to open, doesn't look like the coaster is complete yet. Theming is being added next year as is quite common for parks in Europe.

:)

Looks pretty fun - I do wonder what people would say if they saw that in No Limits, as opposed to a 'real' POV.

This will be great for Plopsa, White Lightning is brilliant fun just as this will be.

:)

An update on Heidi as well as Plopsaland in general from Looopings:
Looopings said:
It seems that the new wooden roller coaster Plopsaland time being not open. All references to Heidi The Ride been removed from the official park website. There is nothing to find out more about the rollercoaster.

Heidi The Ride had this summer your crowd Plopsaland be. Due to problems with the environmental theme of the opening was postponed until further notice.

Who on the Plopsa website to Heidi The Ride page searching, still only get the message "Page not found". Previously there was the attraction "soon" would be accessible.

The management of Plopsaland hopes to submit a new environmental permit within two to three weeks. Has appointed a new engineering office. The previous office was not finished on time the request. Therefore there is a closure or a hefty fine on the prowl.

It looks like there is a pretty good chance that the coaster will not open at all this year now. As well as that, the park may be forced to close for a period as they do not currently have a valid environmental permit. I'd imagine they'll get the issue sorted before a closure is forced upon them but it is concerning none the less.

EDIT:

It is now being reported that Heidi will not open until 2017. They are currently working on adding noise tunnels to sections of the ride.

:)

Now set to open April 2017. Heidi has received a lot of sound barrier fences and some tunnels.

Views from the car park.
