I have made 3 separate trips to PL since FLY opened and have never had to remove my glasses, though I have been asked to show they're secure
That's interesting, maybe it depends on who's manning the security check?

Not sure if this is the right thread for this as it’s not really an ‘accident’ but I didn’t know where to post. There has been a shooting at Kennywood Amusement Park. How terrifying for those there at the time.

Looks like it was an issue between two groups known to each other, its unknown how a gun got on park as the usual metal detectors / security was in use.

Awful. Something must have gone really wrong for a gun to get through the metal detectors, maybe the gun was thrown over a wall or fence, I’m not at all familiar with Kennywood so have no idea if that would be possible but I’ve seen comments elsewhere suggesting it. Yet another ‘lessons will be learnt but not really’ scenario in America.

I was reading about this on Reddit earlier, and a few people seemed to agree with the theory that the gun may have been thrown over a wall or fence, subsequently being retrieved later on.

Two people have been left hospitalised after a Viking ship ride dramatically broke in half at a funfair

Witnesses described seeing metal fly through the air towards them after the 'Barca' ride broke down at a fairground set up in Canindé, Ceará, Brazil on Sunday night.

Crews from the local fire department rushed to the scene, with two people requiring treatment in the aftermath while others were left with minor injuries.

Footage showed crowds of people looking on in horror after the ship appeared to snap in the middle, with one half of the ride sticking up directly into the air.

Occupants of the ride could meanwhile be seen exiting carefully after narrowly avoiding being hurt in the impact.

The fairground was immediately closed by the authorities, who later discovered it did not have a licence to operate, according to local reports.

The fire department said that while paperwork had been submitted, their application had not been finalised and no permit was issued.

The organisers of the fair are now being investigated by the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defence (SSPDS) for causing wrongful bodily injury.

A number of injuries have been reported after a train derailed at a theme park in a terrifying crash.

Shaken passengers described being suddenly thrown from the steam train around ten minutes into the ride at Silver Dollar City amusement park in Stone County, Missouri on Wednesday evening following an unknown malfunction.

The theme park later confirmed six guests and one employee had been taken by ambulance to "nearby medical facilities". Additional support was also being provided to passengers, they added.

Several train carriages are understood to have tipped onto their side during the derailment, with non-injured passengers escorted from the scene shortly afterwards by shuttle bus.
