As much as I'm looking forward to experiencing the Rollercoaster Restaurant next week, I just wonder how sharing the tables with complete strangers affect the experience, I can't see it being ideal for a romantic setting for two for my wife and me.

When the food comes down, how do you know which meal belongs to which person, are the pots numbered or labelled? I wouldn't want to take or open up someone else food.

My other concern is how much space is there inside the restaurant and how well do they cater for a wheelchair user. I ask this as many restaurants can be very difficult to fit a wheelchair in, especially my wife's wheelchair which takes up double the space, nothing to do with her size as in-act my wife is very tiny, just more to do with the layout of her chair which is specially designed for her medical condition. I have mentioned that we will have a wheelchair on our reservation form.

Well firstly, it's not exactly meant to be a posh romantic restaurant. Sharing a table with others isn't really an issue once you're in there. When the food arrives, it has a label with your seat number.

I will have to remember which side my wife is sitting next to me before I place my hand on her leg

I got around it fine in my chair both times I've been.

When booking rollercoaster restraint online, towers have added the "peak lunch" option. This cannot be pre booked, but you must visit the restaurant on the day to check availability. At least this solves the problem of the restaurant being booked up two weeks before the day and gives people who decide on the day they will visit a chance to eat there. I'll check tomorrow if it works.

Probably not showing due to already being fully booked. When I booked our table on line, I found more times where showing if I booked in as a single person as opposed to a table for two.

If you try to book for 4 people tomorrow, there is three time options: lunch, diner, and peak lunch. Peak lunch can't be pre booked, and is between 12 and 3 pm

You are right. Looks like you are no longer allowed to pr-booked a table between the hours of 12 and 3pm on any day including quiet off peak days! . The whole point of pr-booking a table is to guarantee a table especially during peak time. Maybe it's another one of their mad ideas to ensure that they get tables filled outside these times.

Whats next? I can see them selling fast track tickets for jumping the rollercoaster restaurant queue between 12 and 3pm :p

Actually, I don't think it's such a bad idea. When I went to look at the RCR a few weeks ago, it was completely booked up all day, despite the majority of the tables being empty. Looks like they've got problems with people just not turning up after they've booked tables. It might be an inconvenience if your turned away as its full and have to make more plans, but it's so annoying being turned away when 75% of the tables are empty.

Or just fine people for not turning up. Simple enough if they take a card number when you book.

Surely if no one turn up for their pre-booked table on time (or within 10 minutes after their time slot), then they should lose their slot, I'm sure if it is peak time, then there will be plenty of potential last minute customers waiting to have those tables.

They can always do what travel lodges and easy jet do and that is to overbook the tables and operate a last man standing policy. Again that is not ideal either.....

Any normal restaurant would give up the reservation after a certain grace period. Easy enough if they just tell people / note online they will lose their reservation if they don't turn up like 15mins after their time.

Just checked in the restaurant. Despite the fact that I'm here and at the park, they're saying I cant reserve a table in peak lunch time, but they're operating a first come policy during this time.

We went last night randomly and they were fully booked, however they had room for us which was great. No issues at all last night, food was great and paying is certainly a lot easier than on opening night. Also the audio and projectors are all working correctly again, as they weren't last week for a while.

They should start charging a deposit to book ! That will make people think twice about not turning up. Or booking with no intention of turning up.

While I'm all for such measures, the thought occurs that there could be a fair few people who are stuck in a slow queue and miss their booking through no fault of their own.

    ..... Sod 'em. ;)

It's your responsibility to choose weather or not to join a queue, and if it takes longer than what you assume it will be it's your own fault, no sympathy unless you were in a breakdown (which could easily be dealt with by the staff on the ride).

Tried the restaurant for the first time today. Very impressed. Food was delivered fast. The big stick made several appearances (and the food on my table got stuck half way down the last helix, but I could just about reach that). Food was nice, though a person on our table sent his burger back (not sure why, undercooked I think), and we think they sent him down another one, only he insisted that it must be the burger my dad ordered (it had no number). It was only once he left that my dad's one appeared, so we got a free meal.

Love the music and projector show. Was good looking at the concept art and posters on the walls whilst waiting for the food to come (which wasn't actually a very long time). Can't wait to go again sometime.

Anyone know if they are still going to honour existing bookings in the Peak period? Already made a booking for later in the year before they made the change
