Could Nemesis be getting re-tracked in the next few years…. Absolutely

    Could Sub-Terra reopen…. Maybe

Is Scarefest subtly hinting at either… doubtfully

    I'd go for-

    Nemesis retrack.... Maybe

    NST reopening..... Highly unlikely

Scarefest hinting at either....like saying the London Resort is going to be built.

I remember they projected the Wicker Man logo over the Tower above Hex's entrance at Scarefest 2017 and that was before we even knew Wicker Man's name (admittedly it was well into the building process by this point) but it does show they do use Scarefest as a sort of platform to tease/advertise the next season sometimes.

And end of the world guy for Swarm, and Sanctuary for smiler, and a loads of others others all the way back to terror tomb being promoted during the fireworks at Chessington the year 5th Dimension closed.

All a lot less subtle than a bloke in half an old ride outfit, don't we think? They are promotions for the masses not bizarre cryptic links for geeks.

    Few thoughts about SF 2021
    • Lighting is a step up again this year, I have to say the park is really good with this now!
    • Music after 5pm was awful, needs changing. Just too heavy for the park.
    • Did Darkest Depths, thought it was great. Slightly more intense than previous years
    • Roaming entertainment seemed better as well this year!
    • Main lawns were decent

Ahh that’s great news well done Towers for listening to guest feedback!

Edit: maybe it was turned off today not to encourage those delightful travelers not to kick off even more than they did today (just reading Twitter comments from today - sounds like it was a dreadful day for many)

That's a shame I was looking forward to hearing Slipknot followed by an Elton John dance remix.

I know there’s been some discussion about Nemesis Sub Terra in here due to the uniforms apparently featuring. I let the last few slide as discussion moved on, but it seems to have cropped up again. As a result, I’ve moved a couple of posts to the NST topic. Please could we keep this discussion purely for Scarefest discussion, if you’d like to discuss the possibility of NST returning, please use the dedicated topic :)

Just had a 'warts and all' review of yesterday deleted. It's frustrating as the behaviour of 'this certain group' is all too often swept under the carpet.

I'll offer the 'toned down' version....

Yesterday was grim. The behaviour and incidents you may have read about on Twitter are sadly the tip of the iceberg. These people and their antics make the day a nightmare of intimidation for many. Not least the poor staff.

What I find annoying is that AT know the day in advance (they bring in extra security/police and ban alcohol) yet they won't warn prospective visitors in advance, so they can make an informed decision whether or not to endure the nightmare and have their day largely ruined.

What kind of advance notice are you suggesting? Alton Towers have to operate within the law and cannot discriminate against groups protected in law, which includes travellers who are a legally recognised ethnic group.

These types of days aren’t always set in stone though. There’s a general date that occurs but it has been and can be before and after the said date.

I agree more needs to be done regarding the behaviour, and that goes for any ethnic group. If you’re jumping queues, filming on rides, causing a nuisance then you should shown the door.

Unfortunately it’s the front facing minimum wage staff who get the brunt of it all.

Not just front-facing staff (who I have full sympathy for) but paying members of the public who have their days ruined/blighted by these people.

Their behaviour is indefensible, and yet they'll always have people leaping to their defence (I'm not meaning you, btw), and they're very good at playing the victim card...

It's all well and good saying they should be thrown out, but they're not. Queuing for the Smiler, and a group of 4 lads about 15/16 years old were literally scaling the metal grill fences that separate the queue maze (3 or 4 different fences). All to get to two girls near the front of the queue.

There is CCTV monitoring the queue, but nothing was done.

The only way AT will do anything about this scourge is if their pockets are hit. I think people suffering on these days should demand refunds. Enough people do it and maybe AT will take some notice.

In the past they haven’t known the date, it’s been guess work. However- now it’s all pre-book they should be able to predict quite accurately when the travelers will be arriving. If football stadiums can ban trouble makers, a theme park like Alton towers should also be able to do the same - it’s private property after all.

They would have to catch them causing trouble and eject the first time. I think even with the football stadia they only ban people once the police are involved.

Although I do think there should be security staff taking action and removing people by force where trouble is caused, the issue is just queue-jumping, although not a great experience for others isn’t really that significant so security trying to take action may cause more issues than it solves. But aggressive behaviour a should lead to them being removed and if needed the police called.

Pontins got a lot of grief for blocking customers in March of this year because they had Irish sounding surnames...Likewise 'spoons.
Both are being closely monitored for further discriminatory actions by the EHRC.
They may be private companies and on private property, but you still must not discriminate without good reason.

In my experience, there is VERY good reason.

They cause bother wherever they go.
