Hi, just looking for a bit of advice for a trip I'm planning to Thorpe and Chessington next year with a couple of mates. My question is about transport on the trip. We'll be staying in a hotel close to Thorpe/Heathrow, so getting to Thorpe won't be a problem as we'll just get an Uber. I was wondering if anyone had any experience getting from the heathrow area to chessington? I believe its about 30 mins in a taxi/Uber, so would that be the best way to go about it or is there any other alternatives?

Looking at Citymapper it's saying taxi/uber is your quickest option but most expensive.

From my own limited experience of getting to Thorpe early in the day, the quickest way would probably be to jog.
Admittedly not very practical, but cheap as well.

Thorpe would definitely be easier via a taxi, although I have had extreme difficulties getting a taxi to pick us back up from Thorpe on busy days, when the roads outside get queued up back to Staines. We left Thorpe at the same time as the park’s bus on foot, and beat it back to Staines. Taxis were refusing to collect us in that traffic. Maybe that was just a really bad day though.

Chessington is extremely easy to reach from Heathrow by tube (if your hotel is near the station) and then train. The park is just a 10min walk from Chessington South station. Depends how many of you there are as to whether it’s good value compared to taxi sharing.

Easy yes, but that is the most inefficient route to go with... This involves having to get the Piccadilly line all the way back into the centre of London (Waterloo) and then the train... It truly isn't worth all the effort...

The best/cheapest way is to get into Kingston (via bus, X26 is quickest) and then get the 71 (terminates at the park) or 465 (stops opposite the main entrance)...

Even more alternatively, stay in a hotel near Clapham so easier access to the trains on both lines to the respective parks... But I think Heathrow is a lot cheaper to stay in...
