    2017 OFFICIAL MEETS

    Welcome to the 2017 Meet Calendar!

    As is the case for the past few years, should a mini meet (that is an informal, smaller meet) be posted on the forum by one of our meet-up regulars, and that then becomes popular, then we may of course add it into the mix as an official meet. But for now, these are our plans for the year! We hope that they offer enough of a balance between the status quo and new places, so everyone is happy!

    25-26.3.17
    Alton Towers Opening Weekend - the classic weekend as the park re-opens for the season!
    Accommodation: Rugeley Travelodge (Friday and Saturday night)

    29.4-1.5.17
    York Bank Holiday Weekender - a weekend of theme parks, culture, eating and drinking up in beautiful York!
    **BOOK ACCOMMODATION ASAP TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT AS YORK IS VERY POPULAR**
    Saturday: Flamingoland
    Sunday: City Sightseeing in York and/or surrounding area
    Monday: Lightwater Valley
    Accommodation: TBC; York

    17-18.6.17
    Alton Towers Mid Season Weekend -     the sun may shine, the park may be in bloom and a resort stay on the cards, too!
    Accommodation: Resort Accommodation

    29.7.17
    Blackpool Summer Spectacular Meet -     the park is open till late, there'll be rides, food and drink all day long!
    Accommodation: Optional in Blackpool

    14-15.10.17
    Scarefest Meet
    Accommodation: Rugeley Travelodge

    5.11.17
    Fireworks Meet     (pending event confirmation by AT)
    Accommodation: Optional Rugeley Travelodge on Friday TBC; on resort Sunday night

    LWV / Mingo and BPB sound nice and tempting (though not on a bank holiday). The rest of the meets seem to be at some northern grothole not even a loony would visit. ;)

    Maybe time to start doing the more classy parks like Adventure Island, Hayling Island, Barry Island, Breen.... or Skegvegas. ;)

    I'll be at the Yorkshire meet plus the Blackpool one. Good thing there's no South as I didn't want to miss it this year despite not having an MAP :p

    I myself might try the Jorvik Viking Centre, which is to re-open in April after 18 months closed due to flooding! Hopefully the dark ride will have received some TLC!

    However, there is SO much in York. I know that Forbidden Corner is around too... and York Minster! York is also amazing for bars, shopping, creaky old pubs...

    Seeing as we'll be living next door by May, I *may* pop along for FlamingMinger Land and might be able to make it to York the next day.

    Might also try and pop along to Blackpool for my Birthday weekend(-ish)

    One meet I'll definitely put myself down for will be the Yorkshire one. I've been meaning to do Flamingoland and Lightwater Valley for years.

    Also I may do opening, as it's been almost two years since I last went to Towers.

    Colour me interested for the Towers meets. As much as I would love to do the Yorkshire and Blackpool meets, I have shows on those evenings.

    No new creds in Yarmouth/Lowestoft and Margate is too south for the northerners.
