Maybe you need to give this article a read, I'd hazard a guess most of the 40% net contributors didn't vote labour or green or we wouldn't have a Tory majority government.

My favourite part of that article is how it acts like the richest paying most of the tax and the majority benefiting from that isn't the actual point of taxation.
