[edit] Special Squares and Features
While playing Themepark Monopoly there are several key aspects which can both make and break your career.
Fastrack and Single Rider Cards - These two different types of card are issued to a player who lands on the corresponding square on the board. They can be both good and bad. You may launch a sensational new show and rake in the cash, or you may be fined for noise levels. It's pure luck! Just cross your fingers and hope...
Park Security - You don't want to end up in Park Security! If you do you will not be able to receive any income from your parks and attractions. A player may find themselves in Park Security by either landing on the Go To Park Security square, receiving a Fastrack or Single Rider card ordering them to do so, or by rolling three doubles in a row. To get out of Park Security a player must either roll a double, pay a £50 million fine, wait three turns,or use a Security Exemption card.
Manufacturers - Themepark Monopoly features two manufacture squares. This being the Euro Edition the two manufacturers are two of Europe's biggest; Bolliger and Mabillard, and Intamin AG. These two companies are available to purchase, to any player. Once in your ownership any other player who lands on these squares must pay the owner for a new ride. The sum is dictated by adding both dice together and timsing the number by four (If both B&M and Intamin are owned the dice are timsed by ten)
Car Park - The Car Park square is the "rest" square on the board, where no activity ever occurs. Pointless, but key to every themepark!
Station - This is the square where the game all begins. It marks both the beginning and the end of the board. When a player passes through the station they receive their £200 million salary (Unless otherwise instructed)
Monorail Stations - A key part to any themepark is the transport system. In Themepark Monopoly these are shown as Monorail Stations. There are four stations, one on each side of the board, all priced at £200 million each. The more stations a player owns the more they can charge for the journey (Prices shown on the deed cards)
[edit] Currency
Currency is the key to success in any monopoly, and Themepark Monopoly is no exception! The Euro Edition uses the Pound as it's currency. The notes are broken down into the following denominations:
£500 million
£100 million
£50 million
£20 million
£10 million
£5 million
£1 million
Currency is used to fund all your expenses in Themepark Monopoly, and prices are always shown on either the board or cards. The bank is used to hold all of the money in the game not in play, and receives all payments in the game which are not to another player.
[edit] Parks and Attractions
When playing Themepark Monopoly the objective is to make as much money as possible. To do this you will need to buy your themeparks. When a player lands on an unowned park they may buy it if they wish. When in the player's ownership they will charge Admission to any other players who land on their parks (Admission Charges shown on all deed cards)
When all parks in a coloured set are owned by a player the base Admission Charge of all parks in the set is doubled. The owner can also begin development once a complete set is owned. The owner may build up to four flat rides. The more flat rides in each park the higher the Admission Charge becomes. Once four flat rides have been built the owner may choose to convert them into a Roller Coaster. This again increases the Admission Charge to the highest it may be.
The parks in Themepark Monopoly are in coloured groups as follows (From lowest value to highest)
Brown - M&Ds, Fantasy Island
Light Blue - Camelot, Pleasurewood Hills, Bagatelle
Pink - Gulivers World, Lightwater Valley, Walygator
Orange - Drayton Manor Park, Flamingo Land, Plopsaland
Red - Parc Asterix, Thorpe Park, Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Yellow - Heide Park, Gardaland, Chessington World of Adventures
Green - Efteling, Alton Towers Resort, Phantasialand
Dark Blue - Europa Park, Disneyland Paris
