DOOM

In comparison to the camp Forbidden Valley, X-Sector the second 'thrill' themed area which takes itself too seriously and depends on psychology as well as vaguely dark, elusive, secret government facility theming in order to frighten guests. Oblivion counts in this as one of Alton Tower's most imposing roller coasters, alongside The Beastie, often making queues shorter rather than bigger.

The area was formerly The Ingestre Centre (note: It wasn't actually a centre) and used to house a Pirate Ship, Cine2000 and Dinosaur World, all of which never actually did much.

Then in 1984 the area was made into Fantasy World (note: It wasn't actually a 'world') when The Black Hole came along to frighten the bejeezus out of people like Phillip Schofield.

And then in 1997, something was happening blah blah blah, John Wardley was running around the site etc, built a big hole and stuck Oblivion there in 1998. People liked it.

Current Rides and Attractions

  • Oblivion - As seen in the article photo, it hangs you above a giant hole, then lets you fall down the hole. Yeah. It's also seen as a spectator ride if you can actually see the rider's expressions, which are usually humorous.
  • Submission - The least queued for ride on park, mainly because it's a potential death trap and because nobody actually likes it. Unless they're Nick Griffin.
  • Enterprise - Usually at every other park and also isn't queued much on due to it's obvious unpopularity.

Former Rides and Attractions

  • Black Hole - SBNO in terms of exterior and is very confusing for new visitors, because it's no longer featured on the map yet it's still there.
  • Energizer - Also known as the Bone Shaker, this ride sat where Submission is now and was cherished by all who liked it rough and well, shaky. Was removed because it was soon unreliable.
