The Twirling Toadstool is probably the most underestimated ride at Alton Towers. Named as a 'family ride', it is a Wave Swinger, popular in the 80's, however slightly less than that today. When children ask to ride this monster of a ride, parents happily agree, decieved by the friendly (yet ghastly) flowers dotted about this area. The short queue is also very encouraging, and they board the Toadstool, happy as the cringeworthy paintwork surrounding them. Then, unexpectedly the seats jolt upwards, and insecurity strikes. A patronising voice of a jellybean gloats, as you begin to spin. At this point you may expect the children riding to scream, or cry, or at least look concerned but they are all whooping with delight which makes it worse. You suddenly feel old and boring as you realise that you are actually going to hurl (and not because of those horrible pastel colours). Humiliated you leave the ride, wondering whether you are really that weak. Do not worry, as this is normal and you are not alone. Others feel your pain. Oblivion may seem easy. Nemesis could be a dream. But Toady? DO NOT ATTEMPT! IT WILL CONSUME YOUR DIGNITY!
