Sometimes, there is just that one tool who believes
Alton Towers to be a
castle, because it's big and regal with a lot of rooms. This is followed by a facepalm and the enthusiast's sigh of "it's a fortified manor house".
But what some people don't realise for some time is that Alton Castle DOES exist in the village of Alton itself. Only that it doesn't have a beautiful garden in a valley, nor has 3 B&Ms, a God, not even a glorified fishbowl.
This is certainly NOT Alton Castle. It's a name stealing pub.
