Frazzle was born as a large, red, female Chinese dragon in Mystic East, and lived in a sculpted stone temple-thingy opposite the main drop on Dragon River. She used to be much brasher and more upfront whenever visitors wobbled her large, golden eggs that sat precariously in front of the cave on a pedestal. Once the eggs were touched, Frazzle's pneumatic neck would somehow lift itself out from the whole in the temple and roar continuously at the scared little children. Frazzle the Dragon has lived at Chessington World of Adventures since the mid-1980s, terrifying mildly entertaining the children who have visited by appearing from his/her abodes, making some form of noise it them and going back to his/her slumber in a mysterious pneumatic fashion. [edit] Mystic East

However, according to many Chessington staff members, she was nicer in person in comparison to her frightening entertaining animatronic status.

Here is Frazzle in 1992.

[edit] Land of the Dragons

Currently she is located at the entrance of Dragons Fury, protecting the now-former Skips sponsorship rights. Chessington cruelly demolished her old decorated temple and stuck in her a bland, bare cave instead. In addition to this they replaced the eggs for some oversized coins, painted her green and ripped off the front of her lower jaw for some reason. They also swapped the roars for a short but melodramatic speech about a particular brand of potato crisps... that probably don't actually contain much potato anyway, nor have anything to do with Dragon's Fury now that the Skips sponsorship has been removed. It is also worth noting that Frazzle's new audio was deep and manly, suggesting that the dragon also had a sex change during the 2003/4 closed season.

Unfortunately, Frazzle looked rough and slightly bored in comparison to his/her glory days in Mystic East. This was mostly because of his growing age and the annoying amount of minions who kept daring to steal the Skips sponsorship. Thankfully he/she was repainted for the 2010 season and now looks fresh and content, so yay!

Here is Frazzle in 2009.

[edit] Legends

There are three well known legends about Frazzle:

  • That Frazzle was the pet dragon animatronic of John Wardley.
  • That Frazzle's post-2004 audio is voiced by BRIAN BLESSED... which explains the pseudo-epic voice.
  • That Bodger, from the children's television show "Bodger and Badger", was once hired to clean Frazzle's teeth with a broom.

[edit] Friends

Frazzle, over the years of living at Chessington, has made many friends with several different animatronics:

  • Zappomatic - They had both moved into Chessington during the late 1980s and thankfully being next door neighbours, got on incredibly well despite their odd robot-dragon friendship. With Professor Burp for 3 years, they became a good trio of friends until the removal of The Fifth Dimension in 1994.
  • Professor Burp - Frazzle found Burp strange to get on with in the first place due to his complex, jolly and happy personality created from the fizzy bubbles of his former Bubbleworks factory, but soon they became fantastic acquaintances. The female dragon became the new rock for Burp when Zappomatic left suddenly before opening day 1994.
  • Igor the Organist - Although he dislikes the outside, Igor and Frazzle somehow manage and maintain a fun friendship which at times, goes into random musical numbers. The acquaintanceship with Igor is possibly the longest running one she has had without any animatronic retirement or long-term leave
  • Abdab - Frazzle did not mind this gorilla-esque man, but disapproved of his kleptomaniac behaviour towards everything. They got on well anyway although it meant Frazzle having to lock up her precious treasure every time she went out. Thankfully now the Skips sponsorship means nothing so she can just watch him look like a total tool when he escapes Vampire's queueline.
