The Referee starting the very first Ring fight on 20/02/11.

The RMT Ring is a smoking area mysterious location within the first helix of the Runaway Mine Train at Alton Towers, that most un-noticing visitors walk past on the way to look at their amusing on-rides, which was a hotspot for TSTers on one single Meet at February Half Term.

The Ring originated from a recent television series based around gypsy life, Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, where in a episode the male members of the differing communities haul together to settle gripes and arguments through violence. Thankfully the TST version is much less violent than the original version, where it is less bloody and more comical.

Previously this spot had not been utilised for fights and grudge relievers so whence found under the growth of African mine theming, it was brand new to the eyes of TST... aside from the smokers.

According to the Team, the meet Ring fights "have been outlawed, as they contribute to Faff" whilst introducing the BRAND NEW FOR 2011 Meet-Up Fees and anybody who merely mentions it will be given a Health and Safety masterclass by Linda.

[edit] The Rules of The RMT Ring

  1. You must have a 'prize' or gripe.
  2. You must have a rival fighter.
  3. You must have a nice clean fight.
  4. You must stop fighting and wave at trains that go past.
  5. NO FIGHTING.

[edit] Controversy

Forum newbies whom had never been on a meet before had reported claims of dizziness, anxiety and mental paralysis from viewing the fight either in person or on video for it was not what they had expected to happen on a prestigious TST meet. Although this is not a major priority, it is a cause for concern for those newbies who are not yet trained in the tradition of TST unpredictability.

Complaint examples:

  • Well, I thought it was an epic clash of the TST gypos, but I felt sorry for the kiddies on the RMT who had to watch such violence.
  • I thought it was an epic clash of the sexes, with many people fighting it out over the largest of things, but often resulted in some crude gestures. Even though a few punches were thrown.
  • I was terrified by the violence tbh, it will scar me forever...
