Our dearest robot upon greeting us.
Zappomatic, although some of us enthusiasts hardly knew him, was a robot who once lived in The Fifth Dimension between 1987 and 1993, and almost lived a frivolous life of wackiness, adventure and MacGuffin button audience inducing.

He had a 'wonderful' 8 years within the Mack specifically-built warehouse, zooming around in his funky silver pod rocket car... thing, telling the visitors that there was a mutant pinapple on the loose ready to break British telly and somehow having something to do with bazooka holding spacesuit blokes.

But as much as he held a fun time within the warehouse not opposite Rammeh at the time, he had the upsetting loss of audience numbers regardless of his growing cult of young fans, because the story of T5D was far too confusing and out of its own time to make future minion bearers understand the effects of technological storytelling.

However. He kept strong...

Zappomatic had been good friends with Frazzle the beautiful red dragon in the neighbouring Mystic East, despite the odd friendship of robot-dragon but hey this was the late 80s so anything could've happened, who was kind and gentle with him in comparison to the brash behaviour she showed off to the visitors at Chessington. And soon in 1990 he became friends with the eccentric Professor Burp, both of whom went out once every month after a long day of entertaining to go rollerskating and biking.

As much as his two best friends warmed his spirits, he knew it was time for himself to leave the park for that T5D had become so confusing for young children and families, the park had decided on a retheme based around a forbidden, terrifying-for-five-year-olds Egyptian tomb and so Zappomatic had no longer a place whence closed season of 1993 loomed over.

And so, with no particular notice...

Zappomatic disappeared into the night of Chessington's 1994 opening eve with his many clones...

And was never seen again.
