Note: This policy explains in detail how we keep TowersStreet safe and compliant with the Online Safety Act.
If you’re just looking for a simple set of posting rules, please see our Member Guidelines.
TowersStreet Safety Policy
TowersStreet is a friendly, PG-rated theme park discussion community. We want everyone to feel welcome, respected, and safe. This policy explains how we keep the forum safe for all members, including children, and how you can help us do that.
1. What You Can Expect from Us
- A PG-rated forum with no swearing, no adult content, and no violent or graphic material.
- A clear set of forum guidelines to help everyone understand what’s expected.
- A moderation team who actively reviews new content and responds to reports quickly.
- A first-post approval system for new members to help keep spam and harmful content out.
- Private messaging restricted for member-to-member contact. New members cannot use PMs until they have been registered 30 days and made 10 public posts.
- A banner contact form at the top of each forum page for new members to reach the team.
- Image uploads disabled — all images must be hosted externally.
- Avatars – Must follow PG standards. Animated avatars are fine if subtle and not overly distracting. Where possible, avatars are manually reviewed before being displayed. If an avatar breaches rules or is reported, it will be removed.
- Signatures – Must be sensible in size (around 400px height max), up to 5 images and 6 lines of text. Animation allowed if not too distracting. External hosting recommended.
- A Discord server that is 18+ only, using Discord’s own age verification.
2. Reporting Something
- You can report any post, image, or other content by clicking the “Report” button.
- Reports are reviewed within 24 hours (often much sooner).
- Serious issues are prioritised and, if necessary, escalated to the Police and/or safeguarding teams.
3. Sensitive Topics
- We allow discussions about topics like bereavement, mental health, or self-harm, but they must be handled sensitively.
- Start with a quick explanation so people know what to expect.
- You must not post graphic details or descriptions of self-harm or suicide methods — these will be removed.
- The moderating team may edit posts to include signposting to professional support organisations where helpful.
4. How We Enforce Our Guidelines
- Content that breaches the guidelines may be edited or removed.
- Repeated or serious breaches can lead to account suspension or removal.
- We’ll let you know when content is removed unless doing so would increase risk.
- You can appeal a moderation decision by messaging a team member or emailing [email protected].
5. Official Meets
- From time to time, we’ll share dates for “official meets” where members can meet in person.
- These are informal — you are responsible for yourself on the day.
- If you’re under 18, we strongly recommend attending with a responsible adult.
6. Staying Safe Online
- Don’t share personal information like your address, phone number, or full name publicly.
- Use the “Report” button if you feel unsafe or think someone has breached the guidelines.
- Be cautious of clicking on external links — only visit sites you trust.
