Our friends over at Kingshouse Travel have announced the operating dates for the 2013 season. As previously reported, the park will open for it’s Half Term Event on Saturday 16th February, closing on Sunday 24th February.
Main season kicks off on Saturday 16th March, although the new-for-2013 attraction The Smiler is now confirmed to open in May. Nonetheless, March will present the first time that fans will be able to get a closeup look at the changes to X Sector for themselves.
Scarefest event extended
Scarefest‘s return is scheduled to begin on Saturday 19th October continuing until Sunday 3rd November. Last year’s event, which was scheduled to run until Wednesday 31st October was extended by a day to Thursday 1st November. The extension was thought to be due to school holidays in the local area falling a week later than usual, and meant the main event ran for 14 days in total along with a 2 day preview the previous weekend. There’s no news on a preview weekend at this year’s event, but even without this, the new dates represent an impressive 16 day main event.
In other news, Monday 4th November until Thursday 7th November will feature a ‘thrill ride offering’. There’s no news on what this event will be called as of yet, although of course we’ll bring you more news on this as we get it.
Fireworks back for 2013
And finally, we’re happy to report that the Resort’s annual Fireworks Spectacular makes a return for three days from Friday 8th November until Sunday 10th November, which will also be the last day of the 2013 season. 2012’s fireworks event was markedly quieter than previous years, prompting (thankfully unfounded!) fears from some enthusiasts that the event may be scaled down or potentially not return.
