The 2014 season has now ended with the ultimate fireworks rounding things off last weekend. The Alton Towers Resort are still being very tight lipped over what they have planned for the theme park next season, but one thing we all know about is the brand new Enchanted Village, which is set to open on 18th April 2015.
The enchanted village is located next to the Alton Towers hotel and will contain 120 lodges as well as six luxury tree houses, children’s play areas and a reception and restaurant building.
Ground work has been taking place since August, but recently construction has started on the reception and restaurant building, as well as the luxury tree houses towards the back of the construction site.
Delivery of lodges
On Monday TowersStreet brought you the exclusive news via our Facebook and Twitter pages on the delivery of the first lodges to the resort. Four separate lorries complete with police escort arrived with the pre-fabricated rooms and roofs of two lodges. It is thought over the next few weeks the remaining lodges will arrive on site, ready to be lifted into place on the newly laid foundations.
The Crooked Spoon Restaurant
On Wednesday the Shocking Times posted news on the enchanted village restaurant, which is now known to be called The Crooked Spoon. Alton Towers Resort announced that prize-winning giant vegetable grower Kevin Fortey will become the official grocery supplier for The Crooked Spoon restaurant. Head Chef at The Crocked Spoon, Simon Jones said, “We want to make everything about The Enchanted Village completely captivating, and that commitment extends to the produce we plan to use in the Crooked Spoon kitchen. Why would we want to use ordinary pumpkins when we can use an absolute giant like Kevin’s? It tastes just as good and I can’t wait to start using his vegetables in my recipes when we open in April next year.”.
