‘Travellers Day’ end to Scarefest Preview Weekend

The Scarefest preview weekend – a new concept introduced only this year for the annual running event – draws to a exciting but watchful close this evening as guests noted a heightened security presence on the park today.

The event was notably different today to guests visiting the park compared to yesterday with a highly visible presence of additional security features, such as extra security staff on patrol, the addition of metal detectors and bag scanners at the entrance, and a park-wide ban on the sale of alcohol.

The measures were in place after Alton Towers expected a large proportion of travellers to visit the event, who have unfortunately previously created a reputation of trouble and unrest when visiting the park.

However, despite the concerns and fears of many visitors, the day has so far gone without any major issues as have been seen in the past, and many have praised the resort for their response and the presence of the additional security staff offering reassurance to all.

Aside from the security presence today, it seems that the Scarefest preview weekend has been an overall success and also given the resort valuable feedback from guests about minor improvements that can be made over the coming week before the event launches in full.

As many of our members who have attended this weekend will now be returning home, lookout for their detailed and in-depth reviews on our discussion forums, TowersStreet Talk over the coming days.
