We now know that CBeebies Land, the new area dedicated to the popular children’s BBC TV channel, will open on Saturday 24th of May 2014.
The opening date for CBeebies Land falls on the first weekend of the Whitsun Half Term in the Staffordshire area, and many other counties around the UK. This weekend is also a bank holiday weekend, so is therefore the perfect time to open the area which is set to be very popular amongst families with younger children.
With the opening date now less than 5 months away, construction is ongoing within the old Old MacDonalds Farmyard and Storybook Land area of Alton Towers Resort.
All traces of the green big top, last used for ice shows a number of years ago, have now been removed. This location will now be used as a green space featuring activity and performance areas, as well as the location of a new toliet block.
A red roof peaks out above the trees which have, until this year, been used as part of the Christmas event.
