talesfromthetowersThe eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed a new book being discussed over on our forums in recent weeks. Nick Sim, owner and editor of Theme Park Tourist has just released ‘Tales from the Towers’, a look at the history of Alton Towers from it’s early days as the seat of the Earl of Shrewsbury through to becoming the home of the thrill rides we know and love today. The book was released this weekend in E-Reader format on Amazon’s Kindle Store and in paperback format on Amazon.co.uk.

Adam Perry, TowersStreet forum member and owner of history website Alton Towers Memories received a pre release copy after assisting with the development of the book and wrote a review:

“This is a book that anyone interested in Alton Towers should get their hands on. Michael Fisher wrote a brilliant book about how the house and gardens came to fruition since c1800, and I doubt it could ever be bettered. However, the need was there for a book to explain how the leisure side of the park had developed since that period which would explain to people how we have arrived in the situation that we find ourselves in, with several world renowned Roller-coasters and other well renowned attractions. There is so much more that I could say about this book using certain superlatives, but to put it simply, Nick Sim has pulled it off.”
