Alton Towers have today confirmed the long-running rumour that the park’s new junior coaster in CBeebies Land will indeed be themed to the popular CBeebies character, Bluey.
The park first revealed their plans for a new coaster at the end of 2024, when they submitted planning documents, showing that they intended to replace their popular vintage car-style attraction Postman Pat Parcel Post.
Bluey has long been linked to the project, almost since any details about the ride were first known. Everyone’s favourite blue heeler has been at Alton Towers since 2024, starring in a show in Big Fun Showtime where young guests can Say G’day to Bluey & Bingo. It was surprising that the park originally used the extremely popular in such a limited capacity, so her many young fans will no doubt be thrilled that she will now get her very own ride.
The new coaster is planned to open in spring 2026, and no doubt the aim is to get the ride open for the start of the season. Work is already well underway in CBeebies Land, following the closure of Postman Pat Parcel Post in June. The park have wasted no time in completely clearing the site and foundations are already in place for the coaster station, which is expected to be themed to Bluey’s house.
Full details about the new coaster are still under wraps for now, including the exact ride type, but with vertical construction just around the corner, we will likely learn more soon. However, the park have confirmed that Bluey will continue to appear in Big Fun Showtime once the new coaster has opened. Guests can also stay in special Bluey-themed rooms at the CBeebies Land Hotel, and it is expected that the Blue Heeler may get additional rooms added next year, to celebrate the new coaster.
