The Generator - McDonald's and Burger King

The Generator is ideal for those who want to quickly grab their food and go, offering the full range of Burger King food from the rusty industrial-themed outlet.

McDonald's

Forbidden Valley MacDonald's - 2007

In 1998, Alton Towers invited McDonald's to open several outlets around the park, offering familiar high street menus but in appropriately themed environments. The Generator was the smallest of the three McDonald's in the park, with no indoor space and limited outdoor seating area.

Burger King

Forbidden Valley Burger King - 2009

After ten years with the golden arches in the park in March 2008, Alton Towers decided it was time for a change, bringing in Burger King as their replacement fast food option. Unfortunately, this change meant that much of the theming was removed from the outlets. During this period, the Burger King in Forbidden Valley offered a limited version of the standard high street menu.

The Burger Kitchen

Forbidden Valley - The Burger Kitchen

In 2013, Burger King was replaced by The Burger Kitchen, part of Merlin's in house chain of burger joints. The new unit's menu wasn’t a million miles away from what had been on offer previously, but now using the park's own recipes.

The Forbidden outlet closed at the end of 2017 and was replaced by Rollover Hotdogs in 2019.
