Alton Towers Opening Weekend Meet: 20-22 March 2015

TowersStreet Official Meets 2015: Alton Towers Opening

Alton Towers theme park re-opens on Saturday, 21st March 2015 and, as usual, we'll be there to see in the new season!

You are welcome to attend for as much or as little of the weekend as you wish - we will be in the park on both Saturday, 21st and Sunday, 22nd March.

For those who wish to stay over, we'll be staying in the tried-and-tested Travelodge in Rugeley, which is currently priced at around £70.00 for 2 nights and family rooms sleep up to 3 - making it affordable, too. Parking is free. Rugeley is 35 minutes driving time from Alton Towers Resort. Please note, for those expecting us to be using Alton Towers Resort accommodation for this meet, we have deferred this to our August meet when we hope to take advantage of the Enchanted Village instead.

The plan for the whole weekend is as follows:

Friday, 20th March 2015
For those staying over, check in to the Travelodge in Rugeley town centre at your leisure.
7.30pm - Pre-meet social at The Plaza (Wetherspoons) just 100 metres walk from the hotel.

Saturday. 21st March 2015
9:00am - Meet outside the Box Office on Towers Street at Alton Towers.
5:00pm - Park closes; those staying over return to Rugeley
8.30pm - Evening meal at The Plaza (Wetherspoons) just 100 metres walk from the hotel.

Sunday, 22nd March 2015
10:00am - Meet outside the Box Office on Towers Street at Alton Towers
5:00pm - Park closes; end of meet

As much as I love the place, I think I'd prefer a hospital. But yeah, my MAP is frozen at the moment. Hopefully it means I will be able to get back to coasters in a few months without worrying about money, because I can just reactivate my MAP :)

I plan on being there for both days, unsure about staying over yet, but may stay over on the Saturday night for the social aspect of it!
