If that's true (and I'm not saying you're wrong, I do agree with you actually), then I imagine the hate for Rita on here if it had been an SW would be much much worse

They can call it what they like, SW or not, this is the next big thing. It's no small or medium investment. It's what they are banking on getting the guests in for the next few years and we won't get any other large project until when, about 2021? This is the opportunity, and if they don't get it right there's nothing else coming along unless there's some major shake up of the investment cycles.

Like many of you, I feel like I should be delighted to hear that a GCI woodie is coming to Towers. Alas, I am not. I'm a big fan of Wodan, so I know that a short ride can be mind blowing, but I'd hoped that when a woodie eventually appeared at Towers it would be significantly more substantial than these plans show. The length of this ride (or lack thereof) is a big concern for me, and I suspect it could become another Merlin investment that leaves us feeling frustrated over what could and should have been something incredible. When opening day rolls around and a clipboard-wielder asks for my thoughts at the exit, I really hope I won't be saying, "Fairly good, but a bit short. As usual."

Oh come on, look at the history of the franchise. The unbuilt rides were going to be fairly small in scale, Nemesis and Oblivion were outright monsters, Air & Thirteen were both family slanted and The Smiler was a 'reset' back to the scales of SW3/4. Secret Weapons can be whatever Alton is in need of at the time.

Am I right in thinking they only have to show certain things on plans if the site already has existing planning permission? I believe the station area is what they need planning permission for as it's out of the existing boundaries.
With that in mind and that The Smiler had an additional 4 inversions not featured in the plans - those straight sections look very ominous to me. Could we see numerous indoor sections to the ride or something secret that warrants the SW tagline?
