Did they make you sign an NDA? Certainly wouldn't put it past Merlin.
No, I was under no NDA but kept quiet out of respect of the person who told me the information. It's not out in the public knowledge so wouldn't share information that isn't intended to be public unless authorised to do so.

Was more stating the point that it is not just one group making stuff up rather than a debate around why I haven't shared information

To be fair I think the fact it had started testing was spreading around the geeks just not online. There are enough of them who work closed season at Towers for that sort of thing to get out, you don’t need to be sleeping with Crabbe or anything to find out!

 You don’t have to sleep with Crabbe to find out ??! :( I wish I had known that sooner.

I'm more flabbergasted at how they managed to get the track finished in under a month! From updates taken on the last day of the season, it looked as though there were a fair few bits of wood and rail left to place. Also, I'm staggered at how they've hidden the trains from view, and how no one saw them get delivered! Come on, Merlin, admit it. There must have been some NDAs involved somewhere along the line! Normally there's at least one employee who accidentally leaks that sort of thing! Like last December when that construction worker tweeted about "working on the Wickerman coaster"!

So does that mean that when Alton Towers chooses to announce this thing, there will be a real POV to go with the announcement?
Ha! No chance, Towers only have one marketing strategy, and that's "secrecy".
Besides, they wouldn't want people to actually see the ride before they pay to enter the park. The vast majority of the public would either think it was "some rickety old death trap", or a "baby ride".

I’m not sure why a ride starting testing would be considered to be such sensitive information anyway? It’s not like it’s something we weren’t expecting to happen, maybe just a little earlier than we thought.

I could have sworn that some enthusiast somewhere made a runes-to-English converter.

It's quite scary to think how far this project has come in a year. I say this because exactly 1 year ago today, TowersTimes gave us our first pictures of the Flume being demolished. 1 year later and we have a brilliant-looking family woodie testing on that very site. Before construction began, I could not imagine the area with a wooden coaster and not the Flume. Now, I can't imagine the area without SW8, and it's not even open yet!

Top of the theming structure. Hopefully this feeds some peoples cravings for sw8.

Thinking about it now I don't know how the previous photo will add onto the theming structure! Suggestions??

I meant where its going you don't have to be rude

I think it has been suggested that will be in the queue line or somewhere similar when someone showed it recently. Can’t remember if it was his forum or another.
