There is an old saying...You can't miss what you never had.
And another old saying "She who knocks down the Wild mouse will never be forgiven".

Why is the date on the video 1958 - 2018 ? When sadly it never made it to 60 years.

The certificates that came with the Wild Mouse ride parts I got recently (which normally say something like ‘Replaced during Winter maintenance 2017’) stated ‘1958 - 2017’ like a gravestone would. How sad.

Erm, well that looks awful! I actually quite liked the old map design, it made the park look really quite impressive. The new one is boxy and horrible; The Big One looks like a glorified Vekoma Junior Coaster (although one could put forward a convincing argument that it is just that).

:)

Just had a good look at the new map again. I realise that coaster layouts etc on park maps aren’t necessarily accurate, but on this one Big Dipper comes to an abrupt halt. Everything from the dive bend to the bunnyhops is missing! I realise they want to show off Icon but surely not at the expense of chopping Big Dipper in half on the map like the far end of it didn’t exist

Had an absolutely fabulous visit to Pleasure Beach yesterday. Minimal ride downtime (Valhalla was the only downtime I saw) and short (ish) queues across the park. Managed 9 rides and was only there for an hour and a bit.

The park was looking very fresh and clean, seeing Icon testing was absolutely stunning. Even bought myself a nice Mouse running wheel.

Aside from the closure time mishap, BPB are really putting Alton Towers to shame this year.

It was removed in early 2018, so technically it was there 1958-2018.

Thanks for sharing my Wild Mouse tribute video on the previous page, I was in the process of archiving footage from last year and thought I'd put together one last Wild Mouse video.

Out of interest is anyone interested in doing a coaster club event at Pleasure Beach next month? I know it's unlikely given we're a BPB coaster club and this is a Towers forum, but if anyone fancies it please drop me a PM. :)

Has anybody here done Pasaje Del Terror? If so, how does it compare with the mazes at Alton Towers and Thorpe Park with regards to scares and quality of sets/actors?

I have done it a few times, years ago.
Very well done, they juggle the layout, and it comes out into one of the beaches best kept secrets...The horror bar...or I hope it still does...peak times only I think.
But...I'm not into scare attractions, so I think I'm one of the few oldies on here that has never, ever done scarefest or thorpes scarewotsit.
Vampire Beach is ok, but I only did that cos mates drag me.
In a nutshell, worth doing once...best tip, don't rush!

Monkeys will fly out my arse before I pay to walk through Pasaje Del Terror. Not my cup of tea at all, not when there are world class rides I can go on nearby.

I enjoyed it doing it as part of an event a few years ago. Not the biggest scare maze fan myself (favourite ones at towers last year were The Welcoming and the monsters house one), but it was a good laugh. Think they've made some changes to it for this year though.

Is this maintenance, Icon related or cost cutting?

Please note: Big Dipper ride will be closed Monday – Friday during April and May excluding bank holidays.

Cost cutting.

This week Big Dipper, Grand Prix, PB Express, Bikini Bottom Bus Tour, World Voyage, Alpine Ralley, Thompson Carousel, Gallopers are all closed Mon-Fri. Steeplechase and Revolution closing at 4pm. Assume these will be ongoing too.
