So, I have a problem. I have a week off work next week and I was meant to be going to visit some people in London. So I have a week with nothing to do, so I am thinking about a day at BPB and Towers. Problem is, I am likely to have to go solo.

As I live a 10 minute drive from BPB I have popped in when passing and ridden a few coasters by myself - but never spent a day there solo.

It feels a bit strange to be contemplating going by myself... What do you think about solo trips?

I do it all the time, as do many others.
Rainy day solo afternoons are a big part of my life, I can often be spotted doing a rain dance in posh gardens around the ribble valley around noon.
May see you in Crevettes in the rain Chris.
Dippy Dave often gets lonely on the Beach midweek as well!

I've no problem visiting a themepark on my own, I've done it many times in the past and would do so again. I always ride rides on my own as a single rider as my wife can't go on rides due to medical reasons.

It has it upsides, you don't have to answer to no one, plus you can use the SRQ :)

It's odd... back in the day I worked at a Park and had no issue going and riding when I finished work. I also have no issue popping into BPB for a quick coaster if I am passing and have time. It is the thought of driving to Towers and spending the day there by myself that feels odd! But I do have a Merlin Pass that needs used!

There are some crazy loons (such as @ihaveaspergers) who have been known to do solo trips to THORPE which due to the cost saving route takes 7-8 hours each way (and involves about 10-11 train tickets).

I will admit it was weird when I first started doing solo trips, but you get used to it after your Fifth or sixth planned solo.

Short answer is yes but depends on overall circumstances.

I definitely prefer going with people (whether it's the good folk on here or with other people I know) but I know it's not easy to organise something with other people so I think naturally it's just less faffy to do by yourself. For example, I'm heading to Tripsdrill and Holiday Park in July by myself and I could have gone with at least another person, but it is just easier for everyone if I went by myself and I have no issue with that. I plan to do some random parks in Europe and unless anyone has got anything planned, I'll probably be doing it for myself.

I would not though go and visit a park by myself when it's busy if I had the choice as that would be insane, especially if the park is a bit crap (looking at you Chessie and Drayton...)

I go solo all the time. None of my friends or family share my interest - except for my niece. But she's all grown up now so tends to do her own thing.

I've been to AT, BPB, TP and even over to Portaventura on my own. Great fun - no hassle and you can come and go as you please. I'm off to Madrid - to visit the 2 theme parks there - next month.

I am planning a trip to AT next Monday - on my lonesome again!

Yes I have and would go solo. Going to a couple in Taiwan next week, by myself.

But I'm not going to lie, I get lonely sometimes. Hoping to visit Lightwater Valley, Oakwood and Adventure Island Southend sometime this year so anyone looking for a buddy, we could work something out! :)

Will be working close to Reading for he next couple of months and down there for meetings that will finish by about 11.

Am thinking of going to TP on my own for a few hours to smash through a few coasters and still be home in Cambs for bed time at 7ish.

Hopefully school trips don’t start until July so the queues on a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon are minimal.

I've done Towers and Tripsdrill by myself. Ideally I would have gone with others but I had good reasons for wanting to go anyway. No regrets as I have a great memories from both trips.

Visit many parks alone, but it’s much better if the park has SRQs for main rides or is quiet. Hoping to get in a quiet day at Towers this week.
