Sounds like a lot of fuss over nothing, it's just a costume, he didn't have anything real on show! Really how damaging is that for children? I bet they thought it was hilarious!

Yeah just a big old fuss about nothing and parents offended on behalf of kids who probably thought it was hilarious like you said. If it had been a Greek statue nothing would have been said of course
Like @rob666 I was taken in by the headline which was hilarious.
Just the words "rainbow dildo butt monkey" make me smile.
Should be a glittery unicorn in there somewhere.
How do I change my username again?

Just had a look at the original tweet that the article cites and it seems to have been written by an apparently "left-wing, pro-choice" author who seems to be using her platform to spread transphobic opinions. The comments of her follows are even worse. Horrific.

That's sad. I posted what I did based largely on the headline and it was meant in jest of the surreal nature of the article.
I certainly didn't intend for this to loop into and fuel someone's hate agenda, I'll happily delete my message if this crosses a line.
That's okay, I really didn't have a problem with the article itself; it was, as you say, surreal and quite funny. It was just when I went down a rabbit hole (as I do!) and started reading the Twitter comments that I realised just how much hate is being projected towards those who look different or dress differently, and people are spreading this to their children who most likely wouldn't have been at all bothered by it otherwise. Just makes me angry and very sad.

East Midlands Airport passenger tried to board plane via luggage belt
A man has been arrested after he missed his flight and attempted to board the plane via a baggage conveyor.
East Midlands Airport said the man arrived 35 minutes late to check in for his 06:15 BST flight to Poland.
An airport spokesperson said he became "animated and annoyed" when he realised his mistake at the check-in desk and clambered onto the luggage belt.
The 34-year-old was subsequently given a conditional caution, Leicestershire Police said.

Tower Bridge is stuck open AGAIN: Iconic London landmark is hit by a technical fault and left upright for more than three hours causing rush-hour traffic chaos
The bridge's arms, known as bascules, became wedged upright after being opened at 2.15pm for a Jubilee Trust Tall Ship to pass beneath it.
Images taken from the scene show traffic built up on both sides of the 127-year-old bridge, which is owned, funded and managed by the City of London Corporation.
City of London Police urged the public to avoid the area, saying the iconic landmark has been closed to traffic and pedestrians due to a 'technical failure'.
In August last year, the bridge was closed to vehicles for over 24 hours because of a 'mechanical fault' which also saw the arms fail to close.
A spokesperson for the City of London Corporation, which is made up of elected members headed by the Lord Mayor, said: 'Due to a technical issue, Tower Bridge is currently stuck in a raised position.
'We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.'
It is not known how long the bridge will be stuck for.
In a statement posted at around 3pm, the force said: 'Tower Bridge is currently closed to traffic and pedestrians due to technical failure.
'Please avoid the areas. Updates to follow.'
It is not the first time that the iconic crossing has suffered a technical fault.
In 2020 the famous bridge failed to close after allowing a ship to pass along the River Thames, leaving queues of motorists and pedestrians waiting for at least an hour from both directions.
And in 2005 police closed the bridge for ten hours after a technical problem prevented the arms from being lowered.
The suspension bridge, which is also a popular tourist attraction, directly connects the Square Mile financial district to Southwark.
Each of its bascules weigh more than 1,100 tons each with a 400 ton counterweight to help them descend after lifting to allow river traffic to pass through.

Reading this has just really creeped me out... it's possible to buy a highly venomous snake from your local pet shop!

Why it's not already illegal to sell them in the UK I have absolutely no idea.
