General Queue Times Discussion 2023

Been on Alton Towers property for like 2 hours now. Done 0 rides. Poor operations to blame most likely. I'm sure the experts in this thread can direct us to a ride

Spinjam is on 30 mins if that interests you, but all major coasters are 45 minutes +.

JoJo and Gran Gran at Home - best attraction on park 😍

Edit: edited because a comment I was making on Twitter somehow made its way on here

@Matt N what did I tell you about school kids and The smiler. Wild queues for it today
Clearly you were right, seeing as it’s on 140! They must have a thing for Wicker Man too, seeing as it’s higher throughput than Smiler, yet on 120!

Out of interest, what percentage of throughput tends to go towards FT/RAP on average?

I was going to try and do a crude calculation of how many people might be in each queue, but I know that not all of the people taking up the ride throughput will be from the main queue.
EDIT: Wicker Man’s now on 160… I’m guessing it’s either very popular today or on reduced capacity, as I haven’t seen it with a queue that long since a select few particularly busy days in 2018…

I’d be surprised if WM was on 2 trains. It was on 3 last Monday, and the park wasn’t nearly as busy as it appears today, in spite of last Monday also having school trips.

Perhaps they’re still having whatever technical problem was plaguing them when I was there last week… by the end of the first day, one train was being sent out totally empty, and they were some of the first Wicker Man rides where I’ve double stacked since opening weekend in 2018.

Think they were just overstating the queue

I know it’s school trip season, but I didn’t realise every school is there today. These queue times are grim!

It’s down to 130 now… regardless, it appears very busy!

Even if there is a slight bit of overstating, an advertised queue of 130 is hardly going to be walk on or anything, surely?

It might not necessarily be overstated, either; I’ve been on WM before when it was advertised 65 and waited nearly 2 hours for it.

Looks like you’d struggle to everything you wanted to do today even on a 10:00-18:00! I guess you might be lucky enough if you’re there early to catch one areas worth of rides on low queues but after that looks like it’d be difficult
