Strange questions that sometimes need answering (or not asking in the first place really).

Dwo for two, tig for group of ten, two groups of ten, dwotig...which, when spoken when drunk, becomes twotig, which becomes twentig.
Three tig...thirty, etc.
I taught little kids maths me...for a whole term!

If the typical western lifespan is limited to a mere four thousand weeks, why do some thoosies spend the closed season arguing about useless minutiae for months on end?

I was just watching the Alton Towers version of Treasure Hunt and I couldn't help but think if Anneka Rice (her stage name) would have got that job if she wasn't blonde, pretty, sounding a bit posh and had a nice slim body with a nice bum. That's probably just me being cynical though. She seems a nice woman to be fair. I honestly don't hold the circumstances of the time and her being attractive against her. It is what it is. I know this isn't even a question, but it's 3 in the morning, so what do you expect?

To make up for it, I'll signpost you to an under-rated Gloria Estefan song. All it would take is a Netflix programme to feature this and it would go into the billions of views, no doubt. Enjoy ;)

Why did Jim Moran actually spend eighty five hours and thirty five minutes finding a needle in a haystack?
Bit daft, he was the same bloke that sold fridges to the Innuit people.

Think anneka has even spoken about that very topic openly. She did have a good TV career in Hong Kong prior to getting this job. This is TV in the olden days. Even doctor who hired people so the dad's could perv.

Channel 4 was new then, and challenging society's views. It was seen as radical then to have a women in the helicopter. And she was ****** good at it, to boot.

Anneka is very open about her career. She turned down being a bond girl because she thought it would go against all her feminist beliefs at the time. She has recently said she regrets that decision, as she could have challenged the position from the inside.

The Flying Machines on BPB...
Roughly forty miles an hour, thirty feet up in the air, but not a seatbelt in sight...
Why?

I think they're just a bit more lax on the health & safety front than the likes of Merlin parks. At least one of those woodies shouldn't still be running, or at least certain ride cars. One visit to Pleasure Beach in the last 10 years and on one of them I actually thought I'd done some serious long term damage to my lower back after seemingly bouncing up/down after a couple of the drops (I think). Not like 'Oh that was a bit uncomfortable' but more like 'Holy ****, my coccyx and lower vertabrae have been absolutely shattered and I'll never work again'. Pretty horrendous.

I can only assume that it's because we don't tend to use the freezer as often. Also that a freezer tends to be full of drawers, whereas the fridge usually has some open space where a light can shine into more efficiently.

Sorry to bump this thread with such a random question, but I saw it and had a question that I was wanting to ask that seemed like it might fit the bill.

Just this morning, I was recalling a very random memory I have. When my family and I drove back from a holiday in Canterbury back in 2019, I swear we stopped at what must be the most extravagant service station I’ve ever been to. I think it was somewhere around London, and it was almost like a shopping mall… it had a Shell garage selling Jamie Oliver deli sandwiches, and the main indoor section seemed like it had pretty much every restaurant and shop you could think of! A McDonalds, a Costa and a WHSmith in a UK service station is nothing new, but this one had all sorts… it had properly fancy brands like Pizza Express, which you’d never expect to find in a service station! It almost seemed like somewhere you could make a trip to in its own right rather than merely a service stop on the way to a destination.

However, I’m thinking that I could be completely imagining this or mixing it up with a trip to a shopping mall or something, because I’ve never been to another service station in this country anything like it. So my question is; if there’s anyone on here who knows more about service stations than I do, does a service station like this exist, and if so, which service station is it?
