Whatever it is, lets hope it's durable.
I'm kinda surprised they haven't covered the station up while the creature theming is being done, keeping it for a big reveal at some point.

No idea how it’d wear over time but it’d be very fun if the outward facing layer of the station was made of something rubber like. Imagine pushing into it and feeling it squish against your finger, make it feel more like a living thing.

Courtesy of Coasterlytical's latest video, the box sections of the lift hill have started to be painted the same shade of grey as the rails. By the standards of the last month or so, the forecast is looking relatively decent until the weekend so I guess they're cracking on while the weather is playing ball.

That's the primer, the black overcoat will come later. :)

The helix is now completely in place, along with the first piece of track between it and the exit of the first corkscrew.

The primer has continued up the lift hill, with the top sections of the supports also being painted as they work their way up. On the subject of paint, the 'claw/leg' that you pass towards the end of the queueline has also started to be painted the same base grey as the rest of the station.

They were also putting in the ground pins for the supports of the drop today. Wouldn't be surprised if the track is fully in before Oktoberfest kicks off. Probably just a coincidence that the proposed length of time for construction of Project Horizon would require work to start on that in a few weeks time :D

Given that they need to leave safe clearance for the trains/ legs and that it's the main spectator viewing spot, not really sure what they could do there. Disappointing that there's another obvious 'break' in the detail

Random one: Are the supports the same colour or slightly off from the track? I really can't tell on the videos or photos and we're unlikely to get up to AT this season to see in person!

The only reason I ask... pre-track installation, wasn't there a Phalanx poster that had colour codes for Black, Red and a dark Grey? Obviously we have the Black and Red... so could Grey be the beasts new colour? Do ignore me if the supports are in actual fact, Grey 😂

Dark grey is the supports. You're right in saying it's quite hard to distinguish the shades though.

Noticing the red rails on the rail of the Nemesis monster, do wish they had painted the rails of the new track red to match, would have looked sweet IMO.

The “gaps” in track veins do kind of line up between the helix and overbank. Looking at maps, they *could* build a new larger exit shop over from the photo point to the space between those two elements. It would lose one of the more iconic views of the ride, but then Merlin love a ride exit shop on their new investments and I’m not sure where else they would fit one.

Floor to ceiling observation windows or a balcony looking out over the site (an observation platform of sorts) would be pretty cool to have
