I was going to post this in the pet hates topic, but sod it I'm annoyed so I'm having a dedicated topic. Having spent the last few days travelling through Denmark with @Burbs @John and @Rob, we've been having a discussion about "Dan Dryers". The hand driers that years ago were synonymous with **** pubs across the UK appear to still be absolutely ****** everywhere over here.

They still pump out the same old faint whisp of hot air that makes absolutely no effort to remotely dry your hands. How are they still in business? They've not evolved from the same old terrible design they had decades ago, despite humanity having the wonders of the internet and being able to make a phonecall from a pocket sized phone. I'm not asking for overpriced Dyson style tear your skin off stuff, just something that does what it says it's supposed to do.

Dan Dryers, the hand drier equivalent of Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Icon. Absolutely woeful.

This will be controversial but I much prefer a quieter hand dryer that takes longer than something that will wreck my hearing (dysons are the worst).

See I just find an unsuspecting victim as I leave the toilets and brush my hands against them as I pass.

On an unrelated note, I sure am gutted I missed out on this holiday if this is the sort of stimulating conversation taking place…

I always prefer to be blown hard and fast. The noisier the better to be honest.

For a second i thought it was a post about Danny Dyer.

Most hand driers are bought with power usage in mind, for cost savings over it's service life.

Talking of cost saving. Most don't get service as much as they should do, if at all. This causes the unit to be useful as a flys fart.

In all seriousness, the amount of hand shaking I’ve had to do during my day at Farup Sommerland today has led to a seriously sprained wrist.

I’d have Dyson sucking me off any day of the week over this ****.

The other ones that I'm not a fan of are those dryers you have to put your hands into (Dyson and similar knock offs). There's normally a pool of manky water at the bottom if you go in too deep...

Having stopped at Astro Towers, can confirm. Towels are not provided. Instead you are expected to position yourself beneath one of these accursed Dan Dryers and slowly revolve like a doner meat until you are completely dry.

Doner meet? Rotisserie Chicken, please!
