Nemesis Reborn: General Discussion

One day people will stop being shocked when rides have issues in their first week.

It’s pretty much inevitable but we always have the same shock when it happens. Fact is if it needs work they must do it this week so it’s ready for the Easter holidays, which is probably why they are running 1 train part full.

Is it not just better to keep it closed and work on it. People will moan about slow ops and long queues regardless so not doing them any favour keeping it open

People leave home with the expectation that it'll be open, but no expectation about the length of the queue, or it's pace...other than enthusiasts.

If it's open on low capacity, that is, categorically, better for guest experience than it just being closed.

I am 100%with you on this, however, I would love to see some communication go along with this. Something like "The Nemesis has been dormant for a long time, to make sure it isn't angered , the Phalanx along with our maintenance team may operate the attraction with reduced capacity and with extended wait times. We do this as an alternative to closing the ride for the day. The phalanx thank you for your understanding." Or something similar nonsense. It is amazing how something ridiculously vague can be better than saying nothing at all - if done right.

Oh come now, we've been here before when you suggested that every coaster should be running flat out at full capacity on off peak days or should be closed.

Like you, I tend to visit the park on days like today, and if after waiting 18 months to get back on my favourite coaster in the park they closed it completely, eliminating the option to get a chance to ride it, I wouldn't be too happy about it.

Genuine question here, would you be happy if it was your only trip of the year, you've travelled miles to get there under the premise that it would be open, and they decided to close it for the day just because it's running lower capacity?

I haven't been yet and it's killing me tbh. I'm waiting until after Easter though to get my first rides of the season in on it. Hoping it will bed in nicely over the next few weeks.

Would have loved to have been there at weekend but I can't be bothered waiting that long for a coaster anymore quite frankly.

They switched the trains at 11am too. Not good running today. I gave up after waiting over an hour.
Yeah they were switching trains but at least on this one they used all the rows. Over an hour queue from the helicopter on the turn but seeing it was my first time riding on Nemesis since 1998 I didn't mind too much! Went down again straight after so only had one ride, hopefully will get a few rides tomorrow.

Has Nemesis been open on weekdays so far? I'm going tomorrow and I'm really hoping the park won't close it if the park's quiet

Yes, besides being down occasionally for various issues it's been open (Monday I think it was open all day, Tuesday it opened around 1pm on 2 trains, going down to 1 around 3:30, today it's been open on half a train)

Why were they keeping it shut till 1? I know it's a weekday and technically off peak but it should open on the same time as park opening

They were having issues with it, people working on it until it opened, at one point it had no trains on track. It was meant to open at 10am.

teething issues is very common with new rides, I remember hagrids at universal studios orlando, it was bad (understandably as it is a very complex ride that opened early) some days it wouldn't open others it would be reduced hours whilst they fixed the bugs during the nights.

Something interesting I just noticed; The shop model retains one of the original claws and that growth that stretched out over the track to the lift. The actual station has removed them. I guess this was the original intention and explains why the marketing visuals show two claws

In one of the vlogs from Tuesday, they said they were told there was heavy rain overnight and they were pumping out water from the pit. That has happened over the years too, so that could've been a reason why it stayed closed too.

I don't think they ever close rides if the park turns out to be quiet

I think seeing as they took a train off with half an hour left of yesterday it probably wasn’t planned as such, but clearly it’s better for them to sort issues on quieter days than busy ones.

In an ideal world, they’d complete all maintenance prior to the start of the season, and there’d be no unexpected issues all season long but that’s sadly completely unrealistic.

If I’d have been there today I’d have probably been very disappointed, and probably wouldn’t have queued the 90 mins plus for Nemesis when all the other rides were on 20 minutes max. But I’ve been attending the theme park for more than long enough now to expect all the best laid plans to go up in smoke.
