Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25

To be fair that’s happened more than once in the last season but yes it does seem like the trend is improving for ride up time.

As for dark rides it’s not the storms that mean we need dark rides it’s the winter.

Positive news: Early Ride Time is back for half term. Expanded from last year to include Nemesis, Toxicator, RMT and CBeebies.

Not positive news: Sub-Terra and Curse now seem to have been pushed back to at 10:30am opening.

Edit: opening times appear to be all over the shop. Skyride has gone back to 12pm but Walliams World and Hex are brought forward to 10am. Either there have been a few changes or the app is wrong.

I really dislike the way Alton Towers is being run at the moment, all the rides should open from 10:00 they clearly don't listen to guest feedback. Makes me wonder if they are having issues getting staff and that's the reason for the adjustment.

Looks like the new opening hours for stuff are correct. Not ideal but I guess it means more stuff is open by 10:30 now than what there was at 11 before, so it's probably worked out slightly better. Skyride aside, this should absolutely NOT be a midday opening.

I think Skyride main issue is morning checks take far longer than any other ride so the maintenance have to prioritise other rides first.

Not 100% on this one.

I don’t like agreeing with any apparent operational cut but my understanding is some of the filler attractions can go a whole hour with no riders (they have audited guest movement). Primarily because people tend to rush to a big coaster when they arrive.

So I’m not against staggered openings per se but I don’t think anything should open any later than 1 hour after park open. I would also agree with it more if the park never closed earlier than 5pm but that’s another story.

It’s the same with CBeebies closing early when the park is open late, the rides are empty so why spend money on operating them when that money could be spent elsewhere, my issue however is I don’t see the money being spent elsewhere hence why I am conflicted.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but Galactica now has all 3 trains available and was on full capacity for much of today, though it dropped to 1 station later in the day.

Very quiet on park today - all 3 B&Ms ended the day on low capacity but none had queues of more than about 20min by the end.

Same happened on Sunday, galactica was on two stations three trains. Queue went down to 15 minutes and they decided to go down to one station two trains. So the queue then went up to 30 minutes.

Nemesis also went down to one train by the end of the day.

Looks like sub-terra has gone down! Closed for essential maintenance apparently. Not been open since 1 yesterday. I also remember this happening this time last year!
They were fixing something maybe fixing something now., sure they have their reasons

It happened pretty much bang on exactly this time of year as well. I visited this time last year it was closed, during that period when it was down for about 3 weeks
Yes so did I! Infact I remember it quite well as it opened the day after my 2 day visit. This week I’m going a week later, so fingers crossed it’ll be open by then :)

Not that I ever do ridetimes...
Lots of stuff closed today, they don't like getting soggy, do they these modern rides?
And I'm glad I didn't do the Beach today, that is just as bad.
Half the big stuff shut in the wet and windy at both parks.

Suspect it’s the wind, they are far more cautious these days.

Am onsite, dry as a bone now but it is a bit windy. Sadly I don't think it's going to get better. I'm not sure it's sustainable to have this much off, it's not that windy

Spinball Whizzer closed because of essential maintenance, just like Sub-Terra and Rita over the past month. But swear there was a sarcastic comment about Universal on here not to long ago 🤣

Looks fairly major on Spinball, path past it closed and a huge crane in the middle of the plaza
