Drayton Manor Park

I wonder if that’s the train that’s been causing the problems. Intamin maybe coming to look at the train or could be going back as wouldn’t they have just got it back into the maintenance shed.
I could see it not being on track is that it hasn't been on the track since the valley and has been moved to be put back on track (after presumably performing detailed inspections)

if it was taken off track I would find that very odd and I could only see it as they are not planning on running it for a while

In industry, "sending it back" isn't really a thing, unless it is a mass manufactured part (which coasters are not) normally the manufacture would look at it onsite (or your engineering team)

Looks as if the 4th car from the train is missing so could possibly be something with that, complete speculation though. I do still find it odd that it was the same train stalling each time and now the 4th car is missing.

(Edit) just saw a different angle and all the cars are there! looks like im due a trip to specsavers in the morning.

The looping group sales must be poor as now they offering buy 1 Drayton Manor ticket and get a West Midlands Safari park for free.
Now that isn’t a bad price if it includes the rides at the Safari park.

Doesn’t mean ticket sales have been particular poor but actually a way to increase guest spend and get them to do two of their attractions rather than one. It’s at draytons gate price of £45 The online price for Drayton is £27.50 which is what most people are now paying. So they get £17.50 more from each guest that chooses this ticket plus the extra in park spending they then spend at WMSP.

Also helps drive guests to the parks in ten first few weeks of the school hols when traditionally the parks are quieter than the final 3 weeks which tend to be busier.

Does anyone know what time they open the turnstiles at Drayton Manor?

It says open at 10:30am but wondering if it’s like others where they let you in earlier but the rides don’t open until 10:30am.

Be aware there are some Staggered openings River Rapids and Haunting don't usually open till later

From my experience, they don’t tend to open the turnstiles at the Vikings entrance until opening time.

They might let you in and make you stand against a wall in the Vikings area a few minutes before 10:30, but you won’t be allowed to actually queue for a ride.

Yep, definitely before 10. I was there on Saturday. As soon as you get in, look for some paper maps on the left on the counter (think it's the accessibility desk.) then just make a bee-line for the Wave imo. 1010 we were about 12th in the queue. If you don't you might regret standing around in the queue later. It's a one and done

They usually allow hotel guests in at 10 at the Vikings end and select Thomas land rides are open.
They let regular guests in that entrance at half 10 but they open the gates by the main entrance around 10:20 then hold you there behind a rope as they have a opening ceremony.

Thanks all! 10:30 just seems such a late opening time!

Will it be heaving with the £75 offer, or will people think it’s too hot and stick to the beach / BBQs and paddling pools? Let’s hope for the latter!

It's always been 10:30 in the times I have been, To be honest could do with being open longer now the park has expanded with additional rides becomes harder to do everything.

It must be roughly 10 years ago they chanced the opening times as way before I had kids and only went once or twice a year and that was for the fireworks event.
Back then the car park opened at 8:45am and you were allowed into the park at 9am as we always use to go to the cafe that was at the top of the park for a full English breakfast (that became the grill inn) The Zoo opened at half 9 then we would spend roughly 55 mins walking round the zoo and then would go and start queuing for our 1st ride.

Onto another topic saw this on FB

If this is true would it have been Air Race?

I think Paul is telling lies

The only rides at Drayton that actually do invert these days are The Wave and Air Race. Obviously The Wave can’t get stuck upside down because of physics. Air Race would be more likely, but even if it did break down or get emergency stopped, the ride vehicles will automatically return to their natural position on the ground.

Sounds to me like the guests might’ve been on a school trip and have over exaggerated what really happened. That’s just speculation obviously but I can’t imagine any other scenario because it’s a clear lie.

I'd bet any money it's like my visit last Saturday. I did 13 rides in 6.5 hrs. However you might have to take drinks/shade/ice cream breaks in this heat. Put rides you've done at other parks towards the very end of your list.. Pirate Ship is the obvious first choice as they are at every park.

This forum gave me some tips about order and this went really well:
