Merlin Entertainments: General Discussion
Looks like a rebrand could be on the way.

Bland as anything, Souless Merlin are just a mindless husk no idea where to go

Priorities…
I’m sure all those staff members they’ve let go and customers utterly whelmed from their offering will be most pleased.
What happens when you let the marketing department run a leisure and entertainment company.
At least leek signs might get some work out of it

It gives me corporate and minimalist VIBES, almost like the Thorpe Park 2024 rebrand and Liseberg logo...

Some interesting jobs being advertised by OCS.
First off, you've got a cleaner manager in Windsor, who apparently reports into the Head of Park Operations (a role that I'm pretty convinced remains with Merlin), and who takes on "the role of Park Manager on a regular basis ensuring a smooth and efficient Resort operation" - really? I would have assumed that remains Merlin as well, but who knows.
More interestingly, you have a Security Officer, which "...can be a fast paced and active role which also means working outside on the Island like no other"... in Stoke on Trent.
Intriguing.

That wage for local security guards in the area is quote unquote “not worth getting out of bed for”. Pretty sure the wage for in-house security was higher and even higher still for the contracted security they’ve had in recent years.Security...five hour a week actual contract, thirteen pounds an hour, nine months contract.
RWS has done similar with the performer role, real terms pay-cut (not even accounting for inflation). Pretty sure Tussauds paid more for performers than RWS does now, without adjustment over 20+ year gap…

Prior to Merlin, was it huge in the UK? Genuine question - I know they’re big in the cruise industry, and in the states and a number of other countries, but didn’t know they had much of a UK presence.RWS is huge in the UK and global so they must have some handle on the wage profile for entertainment in the UK?

I would say enough to know the going rate but i wouldn’t bet a kidney on being right.
I suppose the main reason it's made so basic is to make it easier to place it on Merlin Products and
I think the fact they have worked wit Europa Park, Disney and Hershey Park should say something about how big they are working with some of the most visited parksPrior to Merlin, was it huge in the UK? Free annual pass with a short break booking. This whiffs a bit of desperation to me.

Sales must be incredibly low this year; very much smacks of desperation to get guests through the door, here.
