Just spotted this on the local paper's website:

Interesting read too see waht goes on behind those buns! :p

I bet the owner is sweating cobs worrying about the future of his business.

I'll close the door on my way out ;)

It definitely was an April Fools! There's in way Merlin's bread goes through such processes! :p

Actually, I think this is just another example of bully boy tactics. Yes, Merlin should be applauded for
promoting bun production in local suppliers, but it's a bit slack of them not to ensure they could
realistically meet demand.
I'm getting bored of all these stale news stories that only confirm what we as community already knew
long ago.

Falling profit margins have lead to a extreme examples of corporate penny-pinching, leaving many visits
overshadowed by a distinct feeling that people aren't welcome and are just walking wallets.
Of all the news stories that I have come to light recently, this is the one that strikes a chord most.
Leaving a local supplier at risk of going bankrupt because they can fulfill orders of such
specific needs should be frowned upon.
?

Initials ;) Flipping heck, that was more effort than I originally thought.
EDIT: Diddle sticks, just realised this probably doesn't work on Tapatalk and other such non-browser browsing methods. Sorry about that :p

Clean but old bread buns...... hmmm.... says it all about the quality of the food in that place now.

Equally as brilliant! :D

Pfft. It's not an April fool. "30-day air curing process" must be a real thing at Towers. ;)

It most definitely was a bit of April Fools fun... for those that may have missed it :p

OMG I can't believe this wasn't true, well it had me fooled :)

3663 I have heard!

Their supplier is 3663, a relative of mine works for a company that also gets supplies from them and they are on the delivery list.

3663 is what numbers you'd press if you wanted to write 'food' on your phone.

Just thought I'd add that in there, incase someone didn't realise that's why they're called that! ;)

Despite working for a company that receives food off them, and another company that supplied them. I never knew why they were called 3663!
