Ride Soundtracks

What's your favourite ride/area/park music? It's always there and has the power to make your visit very special.

My personal favourites are;

3). Cloud Cuckoo Land Area Theme - I love the quirkiness of it, it just sounds really good.

2). Hex - Great stuff, really gets you in the mood for the ride.

1). Splash Mountain - infinitely catchy and compliments the ride perfectly.

I like a lot of the music from IOA, its not ride music as such but still great theme park music.

But one of my favourites at the minute is the Manta Queue line music.

I love Air's theme - it's just a brilliant piece of music and fits the ride so well.

I'm also a big fan of the Duel music... Though I'm probably in a minority with that?

Manta's soundtrack. It's a brilliant multi mood piece of music. It's soft and peaceful for the fantastically themed queue line aquarium, whilst also being able to build the tension for the ride ahead.

The track played in the vault on hex is prob my favourite.

I liked it so much when the ride first came out I wrote to AT asking if it was composed specially for ride and if it was possible to obtain a copy....after several responses from various managers I eventually heard from what was the tussauds studios who kindly provided all the hex sounds and audio on two CDRs after me agreeing not to upload, broadcast, distribute etc.

The problem with the Duel soundtrack is that:

a) it just reminds people of the butchery that took place to the original ride

b) the original ride had about 5 or 6 different tracks for different parts of the ride

c) the original music was generally better and less repetitive.

Ah, I'm one of those irritating / unlucky people that didn't experience the original HH - so my opinion of the Duel music is totally untainted... However, I can understand why people are against it in some way.

Gloomy Wood
Original theme from Gloomy Wood. Now heard on Towers Street as part of Scarefest Loop

Entrance Hall
This was returned to use in about 2008

Tunnel of Doom
Played in and in the ride around the Trommel

Giants Lair
What were the Giants fingers (now Zombies)

Much of the music was also found in the original Towers Street music (pre-2007) - with The Escape! and Ghoulish Garden themes featuring.

There were other tracks, too - but I cannot find them on Youtube.

As nice as the Duel music is, the computer-fx style, and the fact it's one short loop for the entire ride, really is cheap-end compared to what went before!

:)

There really are so amazing tracks out there!

Valhalla - Pleasure Beach Blackpool

The Valhalla theme really is a brilliant piece of music, really suited to the Viking atmosphere on the ride. The Nemesis theme as well is another soundtrack which fits with the theme of the ride incredibly well. Ride music is something done very well in this country, strange when the majority of theming is awful! :p

Sorry to bring back an ancient topic, but I wondered if anybody else is as in love with the Tower of Terror soundtrack as me? Whilst not originally created by Disney, it is a collection of genuine 1930s jazz songs that have had ghostly reverb added. Instantly my new favourite ride soundtrack, stood in the gardens at the rear of the hotel/exit area and hearing this eerie jazz echo around the area; absolutely magical.

So little effort on their part but such a stunning increase in atmosphere and theme. Could be done in half an hour with a DAW plus reverb and tape saturation plugin. Things like this make me love Disney. :)

Pretty sure everyone will disagree with me on this one, but I really adore that Dark Forest theme music.

I know it's not the best composition ever, and basically just a rearrangement of Teddy Bear's Picnic, but whenever I listen to it at home, I always get that funny feeling inside and want to go back to Towers. No idea why lol, I just do!
