A two meter tall wicker man statue themeing was spotted. Photo taken from TT site (Credit to Bugertaster)

It looks a bit grumpy. So it should be called @DiogoJ42 : D:D

I don’t think the main structure will be like this, that looks more beast like from what little you can see

This is a miniature for advertising/media purposes. Possible for filming of the advert, posters etc. They can't get access to the main structure, due to all the prep to winter poof the structure, at its earliest state. This won't be used as themeing.

I was thinking that, although might be cool if it is used as the ride entrance, you walk through it just like the train passes through the full size one.

Not convinced.
If it was a miniature for filming etc they would use...a miniature. That thing is pretty big in its own right.
Also very little marketing is created actually at the park most is done in studios with green screen, I don't see any reason that it would be at the park unless its theming for the ride.

I think it could well be a miniature for advertising purposes as it does look just like what we can see so far of the bigger structure. However I think it is also a certainty that we will see this used as actual ride theming. If they can re use the flume tap as a freak show prop then they aren't gonna let this go to waste!

Merlin using miniatures for advertising? Are we back in the 1990s? Surely they'd just use a CG render?
4m tall from hips to head. Imagine a miniature railway on the same scale, or cabdburies miniatures, or the windmill on a similarly scaled miniature golf course, or the new mini clubman, or Minnie mouse... I wouldn't dare leave the house!

It looks nothing like what we have seen so far.... that looks more beast like not man like

I just had a thought about when this ride might open. I was thinking that it would probably open with the park on the 17th March. But then I thought that they might do what they did with Galactica and purposely keep it shut until the 22nd so that they can do "soft openings" on the 17th and 18th. I hope not, but I feel that this is what they might do. Although it would be really nice to go in on the 17th March and see this officially open.

EDIT: I also saw somewhere in the ride's early development that the park were forbidden by the council to open it before the 31st March 2018 or something stupid like that. Is this true?

It looks exactly like what we have seen so far, it has the curly horns on the side of it's head and everything. The only difference is that it doesn't have the holes in it's torso with a coaster going through it.

Would love to see that statue become part of the entrance to the ride rather than a big yellow box personally. Looks the right height for something like that

I think you could be on to something there! :)
We'll have to wait and see, though.

Bit off topic but I remember seeing a bunch of wheels and stuff near the upper section of the structure before the head was put on - could this mean there's gonna be some moving parts on the structure or is it more likely it'll just be completely static.

I think it will end up being static but if it was say a head that turned to keep looking at the train that would be cool.

I sure hope this ride has 3 trains, all of reasonable length. For too long have Merlin installed headline attractions without apt throughput capability.

To benchmark, assuming maximum trains/vehicles/crafts/gondolas etc are running on the system:

Galactica (with VR) can achieve a maximum of around 800pph
Nemesis can achieve, or should achieve, 1,400pph
Oblivion can achieve 1,600pph
TH13TEEN can achieve 1,500pph
The Smiler can achieve 1,000pph

They should be aiming for a 1,600pph coaster to meet demand in my opinion. Other parks are well know to push the manufacturers to ensure everything is timely.
