I hypothesise that adventure land is going to get a retheme sometime in the future. Its a long running area and it only has spinball now.

Adventure Land no longer exists anyway; Spinball is regarded on the park map as being a part of the Towers.

Never really existed in the first place to be honest. Areas like that are just a name really because they can't just call it Zone 2 or Tarmac Land. Spinball never belonged to an area really.
True, but it'd be cool if they made something out of it. Having a new themed area would be nice since the last major retheme was dark forest in 2010

I suspect this is what it will feel like when walking into Alton Towers this year for me and my wallet. His head is obviously bigger after his amazingly good report a few weeks back.

Whilst I am not one to complain about less arcades, on my visit last year I felt the multiple closed/boarded up stalls, restaurants, kiosks etc gave the park an almost abandoned feeling in places. This will only add to that.

Ps - the state of that roof and mismatched wood though.

I hope they have some of that green wood preservative in a tin somewhere

They might add some of those nice posters to the walls before opening like the ones they added in 2016, for all we know.

Or maybe a potential idea would be to replace the arcades with internet cafes/gaming lounges, as stuff like Fortnite seems to be all the rage at the moment. Could be a good way for Towers to provide activities for non-riders and it would embrace modern technology.
