Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion

Think I have worked this out...

Instead of paid entry, the gate staff are pushing Nickland only wristbands as the cheap entry option for non riders, and enticing walk up on the day punters with a "special offer" of the online price at walk up...£25 on the day (I think).

Punters are then checked and "advised" about the queue access at the start of the queue to avoid disappointment, and to help boost upsales to full ride access, probably at another "special" rate.

And it won't get dropped unless they drop the nickland ticket and return the paid entry for a tenner the locals are absolutely screaming out for!
Another of my punters told me yet another "The family are going, but we oldies are on the pier and 'spoons" tale.

And furthermore, the Beach queues look heaving already today, pretty much double the Towers queues like for like...late night riding seems popular again.
But Blackpool is usually heaving at Easter if it isn't raining.

Are queue times at Blackpool comparable to Towers? Since they went to paid entry most of Pleasure Beaches rides have woeful throughput (even compared to AT)?

I hope PB is busy though, really would hate to see it die on the alter of Mandy’s incompetence.

Routinely, the typical day to day queues at the Beach are about half the Towers queues, less capacity, but far fewer punters.
Late nights are different.

And I never look at queuetimes...not me sir, not ever.

considering as I write this, avalanch eis at 85 mins, the big one is at 70, grand national is closed Icon is at 70 and infusion is at 60 I would say they are much worse, average from AT today seems to be arround 40 mins for all the rides.

this isn't about queue times though, BPB have the capacity to dramatically improve capacity they just don't care about throughput, AT do actually put all trains out and they will try to get close but BPB just dont, the big one 2 trains, sure we will still manage to stack the trains for more than a minuite, 2 trains on the grand national? sure, lets waste time in the unload. avalanche at 1 train yes

Out of curiosity, what sort of ride counts have people managed to attain on a quiet day at Blackpool in the past?

I only ask because the crowd calendar forecast on Queue Times reckons that the crowd level is only going to be 13% on the day of my upcoming trip, which equates to “Empty” on their scale.

My current ride count record in 1 theme park day is 31, attained at Drayton Manor last September. But with Blackpool being a very small site and having lots of rides crammed into a very small space, I was wondering whether a quiet day in that park could be a recipe for a new record daily ride count! It’s an 11am-5pm day, so only 6 hours, but my Drayton record was also set in only 6 hours, so time should be no problem here if crowd levels are as low as Queue Times estimates!

Highest BPB count for me I think is about 45, doesn't approach my own record though in Gröna Lund, 80 (82 if you could 2x walk throughs of Lustiga Huset)

We went August last year and managed 19 which was a very good return tbh for the summer holidays. Weather was good also. Not sure why it was so quiet (maybe because it was the Friday before late night opening on a Saturday)

48. And that was in July (I assume LNR or something)

14 of them were on Wild Mouse. I may have been a broken mess the following day.

Did Mouse, National, small beer, repeat all day once for my birthday.
Unfortunately school's season, so the beer made it more fun as the day went on...drunkenly shouting "Get back to your bloody coaches" at the kids on the other National train by 3pm.
Not able to count anything by the end.

Aviktas would a really bad name for a ride IMO not really that marketable I struggle to think of how it is pronounced let alone trying to get the public to remember it

we are all enthusiasts, but ride names should be able to be simplified into a quick and easy to remember name by the public (e.g most people say hagrids not hagrids magical ...) nemesis is easy to remember, the big one is really easy and good (helps that it is the biggest in the park) I can't imagine the public going I am going to ride AVIKTAS, they will probably just say the big swing or something, which they will probably forget and not talk about much, I also can't see this name working in advertisments either.

my main hope with that ride (if it is named this) is that dosn't it go out towards the prom and should be quite visible so hopefully it attracts the crowds like PMBO did.

Maybe they are going to have "Victor's Italian Pizza Restaurant" next door?? "Are you hungry?" "Yes, letsa go to AVICKTAS for some-a pizza". Or maybe not.... Maybe someone in marketing watched H2G2 and decided picking random letters out of a scrabble bag was a good idea?? 😁
