Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25

I guess the timing was the problem too. Being stuck on skyride from 3:20-4:05 basically wasting the end of the day just really sucked

I think Rita is definitely on borrowed time now to be honest. To be closed for a second time for extended maintenance within 2 weeks of reopening is insane, particularly when the park is closed for 4 months

Shame if it goes is a good ride underrated in my opinion. And has decent capacity when operating efficiently.

Rita needs to go…it’s rough as hell and does nothing after the launch. I find it surprising that it is now getting praise, as previously it has been slated for as long as I can remember.
The praise is likely because people are fearful of losing another ride without a replacement. I personally enjoy Rita but it’s the wrong ride in the wrong place. Losing it would really open up dark forest imo.

Or...... it could be, as I said a few weeks ago in the Rita page, there is nothing quite like the shear power of the hydraulic launches, absolute nuts.

There is a launch system just as powerful as a hydraulic launch a Compressed Air Launch is equally as good, though not sure I would want Rita converted into that might be even more unreliable

Was at the park today. Rita down, zero activity anywhere near the ride. Trains are parked up on the track by the off-loading area.
Hex also didn't open at all today. Not sure if it's just a "one off" or something else to keep an eye on...

Shame with Rita I was fortunate to go last Tuesday when it was open and it ran with no issues. Anyone got any speculation on what has happened to cause it to go back down again?

Looking at queue-times.com, Hex looks like it’s been down for a couple days… that’s not good. I’m going next week and it means it might be closed for the fourth year running!

Shame to hear no signs of life around Rita, sounds like they might be waiting for a part again.

Quite a few issues today:
  • Of the main coasters, only Smiler, Oblivion and 13 opened on time. Wicker man opened just after 10.30, Nemesis around 10.45 and Galactica around 11.00. With such short opening hours, that equates to half the major attractions being closed for the first 10-15% of the day. Rita still closed, and Oblivion had a lengthy closure around midday.
  • As seems to have been the case for the last few days, Hex only lasted an hour or so before closing for the rest of the day. Rode it while it was open and all the TVs in the armoury were just showing a test card, even though the audio was still playing.
  • Toxicator’s fountains were off and the pools empty. They were nice while they lasted.
Still managed a decent day: Oblivion x3, smiler x2, Nemesis x2, Galactica, Wicker man, Toxicator, Curse and Hex. However this was entirely down to a combination of being a single rider, knowing the crowd patterns and a bit of luck. For anybody that started out in Forbidden Valley, it’s entirely possible that their day would have been as follows: get to FV to find both coasters closed, hang around for a bit to see if they open before deciding to come back later and try X-sector instead. Get there around 10.45 and join the 45 minute queue for Smiler. After riding that, join the 40 minute queue for Oblivion. Whoops, you would have just been near the front of the queue when it broke down. By the time you’ve given up waiting (or been booted out) the better part of half the day is gone and only one ride to show for it.

I know that example is a bit contrived, but it is realistic based on the queue times and when things opened or went down this morning. Opening hours, availability and operations should be good enough that there isn‘t such a wild difference in guest experience. Shame to see this today when, Rita’s issues aside, they have been doing alright lately. Hopefully they can get it back together before school trip season kicks in in the next week or so.

That's the issue with Towers you either get good days or bad days. I have mostly had good days this year for availability a part from opening which I still believe has been the weakest days so far overall I will say it's an improvement on last year but still a ways to go from availability.

As for the fountains I would assume its either because of wind or they are fixing some kind of issue within the area but this is just me guessing

Well this is really poor… Hex, Nemesis sub terra and Rita all did not open today.

I am going next week… can’t lie I’m getting a bit nervous! It seems to be a gamble at the moment if you will have a good time or not with ride availability issues like this

Personally, I wouldn't lose sleep over any of those three possibly being closed for my next visit in a few weeks.
That would not stop me having a good time, the way the park is run, it is difficult getting on everything if the park is anything but very quiet.

... 3 of those on there are likely end of service life Galactica, Rita and Spinball Whizzer
Yet again, citation very much required.
I know none are new, and may need occasional "bits", but end of life?
I'm no engineer, but not really.
I've seen lots of clapped out coasters in my time, but none of them appear clapped out.
