Six Flags Qiddiya

It would be disappointing but based on the other attractions I think you’d have an equally good time as at any Floridian park.

I’m going to give it at least another month I think and see how things develop.
If you were spited in Florida, for a single attraction, there are at least a plethora of other parks you can experience at the same time. The same can't be said for Saudi Arabia.

You can structure the trip to have multiple places on though? Turkey is a common place to connect through and they have loads of parks.

Or UAE.

I meant if you get spited by Falcon though the park still has many incredible rides, so you’d surely have a great time beyond the gigantic spite looming over you.

Also chances are currently you’re spending a fraction of the cost to visit Saudi vs Florida so they’re not comparable trips.

Though based on current plans Qiddiya will have a plethora of attractions to rival Florida soon enough.

Sorry, double post nightmare today.

One of the riders on that rollback posted elsewhere and said it in fact rolled back twice at the same spot. There was a long time between launches. After the second successful launch, the ride as closed for the rest of the day. This was Thursday.

They said it was quite windy which was suggested as the problem.

They also commented that prior to this the queue was on 150 minutes all day and posited that unlimited fast track may soon be a thing of the past.

Yeah the full video is over 13 minutes long. I do like the recorded announcement though. And it appears that engineers didn't have go to the panel on the launch track, which is interesting. I assume they're able to do it from the station op cabin.

I do wonder how the park will handle all the various Muslim holidays. I assume it will be closed for Eid but maybe later opening time during Ramadan so everyone can do their praying and breaking fast and whatnot.

I wonder if numbers will be impacted during Hajj too even though everyone doing that has to go through Jeddah on special visas. I reckon Riyadh will still be absolutely packed at that time of year
I was keeping an eye towards the end of February. But the lack of dates released for this period and the fact that’s it’s Ramadan makes me unsure whether it’s a good time to visit.

Seen a few reports over the past couple of days that operations haven't exactly been great. I believe it's currently half term, so the park is busier than the initial opening weeks.

Yesterday's post from Coaster Guy JMI didn't sound like it was a great day for him, and Falcons Flight is currently at 235 mins today

Yikes that sounds awful. Queue jumping to make PortAventura blush!

Very different impression from the opening day reports.

ElToroRyan has released another in-depth video that may explain why the queues for this thing have been so dreadful - turns out fastrack is only part of the problem:

TL/DW: It seems that a number of design aspects have resulted in a theoretical capacity that really isn't all that great. The longest block takes at least 75s to clear but the dispatch interval may need to be as long as 2 minutes based on the speed of an empty train crawling through the brakes, the latter interval would cap the capacity at 420/hr. In addition, due to the extreme speeds of the ride the trains have to spend at least 4 minutes in the station after each cycle to cool down. Apparently there are only 3 trains operating at the moment, which when combined with the unusually long ride duration would add another 30s or so to the already slow 2 minute dispatch interval and bring current throughput down to a woeful 340/hr

Not sure if its a glitch or an active decision but Fast Track is no longer available (well technically it’s listed as sold out every day).

2 days later Fast passes are still showing as sold out every single day which to me suggests it is not a glitch but perhaps they've reduced availability?

I was hoping to go before Ramadan starts but there's absolutely no chance i'm visiting without a Fast Pass based on current reports. People have been saying all the major rides are now minimum 60+ minutes...

Coaster Guy JMI has posted his vlog and it’s probably more representative of a general public visit, now the opening days red carpet has been packed away

Wow.

So enlightening and all my worst fears. Basically the world’s worst theme park has the worlds best rides. A cruel irony, if very on brand for Six Flags.

Be interesting to see the updated reviews when the relevant media return. I know TPWW said they were planning to go back later in the year.

He said in terms of queue jumping it was PortAventura x20.

He counted 73 people push in front on iron rattler. Staff encouraged queue jumping and opened security gates for friends. A fight broke out in Falcon queue due to it.

The filming aspect he highlights right at the start of the tape is interesting vs what the vloggers have all been doing. I’ve seen many many tales across social media of unsuspecting people who have had their Ray Ban Metas confiscated at the airport on the way into the country so it’s interesting how some people are seemingly allowed to use them, and the early vlogs had people filming other people left right and centre.

A reminder again that if you’re posting vlog content that you must point out what specifically you find interesting in that vlog. Simply saying it’s “interesting” isn’t enough. What is interesting specifically that hasn’t been covered already? Provide timestamps, give people a summary.

Not everyone has the time or ability to view a YouTube video. Please, make some contribution to discussion here not just simply dump links.

Apologies. If you are referring to my post I’ll delete it. The post had generated some discussion with Bowser & Dave both replying with their thoughts.

No need to delete, as you said there are some contributions there since you posted them. A quick edit summarising what is interesting in the vlog would be helpful, and pointing to specific parts which contain new information. It helps those who do not wish to/do not have the time to watch the whole thing.

It’s also to prevent us ending up with a myriad of vlogs being posted which can often just regurgitate the same information.
