As some of you will know, on the previous site we had an application process for site and forum team members which unfortunately we didn't get chance to complete. So, now that things have settled down I thought I'd take the opportunity to clear up what has happened in terms of recruiting new team members.

Forum Applications
As it stands at the moment, we don't have a need for new forum team members so won't be announcing any at present. We had a massive number of applicants which far exceeded our expectations, and it took us quite a few hours to whittle it down to a few possible candidates. We've still got the list of applicants and as time goes on we may refer back to them to recruit new team members. For the moment though, a huge huge thank you for everyone who took their time to apply for the positions, I'm only sorry we didn't get to finish the application process!

I know a few people have been asking about the now infamous bison questions, we'll aim to get those posted in the coming days :)

Site Team Applications
We were also recruiting a social media champion to come on board to help us with managing the Facebook and Twitter accounts. They will form a huge part of TowersStreet in future, and arguably have done so already. I'm please to say that we still do require someone for this position, and the team have decided to offer djtruefitt the position. Michael had been a regular on 'that other site' for a while, and has experience in managing online communities already. His application impressed us greatly, and I'm sure he'll be a massive asset to the team.

Michael will be learning the ropes over the coming days before taking over day to day management of the Facebook and Twitter accounts.

So, forgetting about us refugees from days of old, please welcome our first NEW TowersStreet team member - djtruefitt!

But welcome to the team Mike, you will be smashing.

it's a real shame we couldn't offer the roles to the forum team but it's nice that we had the resources to fill a vital role still using the community applications in the spirit we plan to run the venture on.

And the BISONS and the BIRDS are important tools in recruitment...
 
I think it's safe to say we're all gutter about the Forum Team applications, especially as we spent so long carefully going through them and making our decisions :(

However, it's lovely to have some fresh MEAT in the form of Mike, so yay! :D
 
Well done truefitt! A fantastic choice and a great addition to the team! I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job and I can't wait to see how the social presence of TS is developed over the coming months :)

Also I'm sure everyone who applied for forum team positions appreciates the difficult situation you lot were all put in - and I'm sure again that everyone would rather you continue your great work on this new website than faff with creating new members of the team for a forum that is still finding its feet!

Good work to the team and well done to truefitt!

Well, I'm certainly glad that that things have been cleared up, and I wish to congratulate djtruefitt on gaining the Social Media Champion position. An excellent choice by the Team, and I'm sure he'll do a fantastic job.

Congrats Truefitt! Now your calm and serene way will evolve into a ravenous, power surging and aggressive form of TEAM RAGE and you'll be feared by everybody on the Team. Even Sazzle! ;) But being srs, well done and we know you'll do a faaabulous job!

Thanks for all the messages guys! Its a great honour to be the first new person to join the TS Team at such an exciting time for the site. Im sure there will be many great changes over the next few weeks and it will be great to be part of them!

I do love a bit of Facebook and Twitter as well as Alton Towers, so mix them together and you have your new social media champion!

But for the record I dont have access to the Twitter or Facebook pages at the moment, so anything current you cant blame me!

Sadly didn't win, but the role has definitely gone to a worthy candidate - congrats Micheal! :D

As a consolation prize, any chance of some anonymously posted Bison answers? ;)
