Etnaland has recently been seized by Sicily's coast guard and closed, due to illegal waste dumping and environmental concerns.
According to articles going around, an investigation has been going on since 2022 that has found that the parks owner has been burning and burying waste in a nearby field and dumping pool water into an artificial lake.
Based on RCDB, the park has been SBNO since the end of September last year. The park will remain closed until an inspection has been completed and correct water purification systems are installed.

The park seemed to be at the start of a redevelopment and expansion plan, with the water park getting a new children's area, and in a few years a water coaster from ProSlide which was well in its development stage. The theme park was entering a project with Mack, with an unannounced coaster (estimated to be in the €20 mil range) for 2029.
