[2026] Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land

Gotta get the Bluey Cred mate😂
If I do, I’m waiting for a nice midweek day when the kids are all in school and the queue is short… I’ve ridden worse than Bluey in terms of size, so I’m not saying I’ve never ridden a kiddie cred, but those were on short queues.

When I only get to Alton a couple of times a year, I have better things to do than wait 2+ hours for a kiddie coaster!

My friend is at Towers, said the CBeebies queue is gigantic. He sent me a photo… interestingly no children in the queue 😂
Are you able to share the photo online? It sounds funny!
Do you though, or would it be better to leave the young kids' ride to the kids to enjoy on opening day?

This community does depress me sometimes lol
AT had the foresight to anticipate this (as did I, sadly), and so they specifically asked adults to let the children ride it first!

To his credit, Coaster Dad said that he will wait a few weeks / months before riding it, for the same reason.

Yes it was just a joke all. Agree with Matt

Hail storm apparently.
Bluey is now showing in Ride Times as "Not scheduled to open" at all.

The other rides are only showing temporary downtime / weather delays.

[EDIT: Bluey is back open, and so it was probably just a mistake]

P.S. Now that Bluey has launched, should this thread be moved out of the Future Discussion section and into the General Discussion area?

But it blows my mind that they all feel the need to do it on opening day!

Getting on the Bluey coaster day one is not a feat thats going to impress anyone.

Saying you queued over two whole hours, however, will turn some heads.

Not in a good way.
Maybe they should enforce a height restriction, so that only people under 1.4m can ride before 5 p.m. (unless accompanying a child) * ...

...and then reverse the policy for Alton after Dark, so that only people over 1.4m can ride, and play loud techno music (similar to X at Thorpe Park) and use strobe lighting

(*I'm not sure if anybody remembers this, but - in the days before the 12A film certificate - a lot of children were unhappy that they were unable to watch the 12-rated Mrs. Doubtfire at the cinema and so Live & Kicking ran a competition for under-12s only, as compensation

FYI: The film was later downgraded to PG when it was released on VHS cassettes)

A VHS cassette that happened to feature a 1994 Alton Towers advert as one of the promotions before the film.

Back to the park, then. And er, Bluey. I won't be riding this for the foreseeable future, but it looks fairly charming and true to the spirit of the show from photos, although the station seems a little boxy and exposed on the inside.

I still maintain that the Bluey brand is oversized for a small children's coaster, and wonder if we could expect a dark ride or show in the future.

or show in the future.
There’s been a show in Big Fun for a couple of years now, although it wouldn’t surprise me if Bluey got a permanent space for meet & greets. The Furchester Hotel is a pretty dated attraction now and has strong access to backstage facilities, so maybe that building could be rethemed.

A ‘dark’ ride is exactly what CBeebies Land needs next though, even if it’s just a new version of Postman Pat that’s indoors and outdoors, it’ll certainly be something to hedge against poor weather conditions when they do occur. In fact, I heard once that Pat’s ride system was actually intended to be used indoors (not sure how true that was though).

With a queue that didn’t drop below 90 minutes at any time I saw it, I did not partake in a ride on Bluey today, but I did briefly stroll into CBeebies to see it.

Having seen it in the flesh, it looks quite nice, to be fair. And also bigger than I expected; it looks a fair bit bigger than Octonauts!
