Paultons Park: General Discussion

Could even go one step further they could go cheap, and get a technical park water coaster.

(Might I add Technical Park Water Coasters are solid)
 
Based on our previous experiences with Paultons, I’m thinking that the hype for a Mack water coaster might possibly be premature.

Typically, Paultons’ second year expansions have been smaller; look at Farmyard Flyer, for example. A Mack water coaster one year after building a £12m land with their largest coaster yet would be an enormous investment for a park of the scale, particularly seeing as they also did Ghostly Manor in 2025.

I’m not saying that there won’t be one coming, and if they are building one, it’s an impressive amount of investment and all power to them! But after the Euro-Fighter disappointed lots of people who were expecting something more extravagant, I’m wondering if we should temper our expectations here slightly.

It would be brilliant, and I’m not ruling it out, but I’m just not sure Paultons are the type of park to build two big coasters in consecutive years; I get the impression that Paultons wants a more gradual, sustainable growth trajectory rather than throwing everything and the kitchen sink into rapid growth and investment.

Lawrence Mancey stated in a recent interview that one of the reasons they went for a Eurofighter was was the build timeline, other coaster manufacturers have a construction turnaround of 3 or 4 years from order but gerstlauer can deliver a Eurofighter in 2 years. It's quite possible a mack water coaster with a three year build is the main coaster and they decided to open the area first with a retheme and a smaller coaster and then have the main coaster opening in 2027. It would be a smart move, giving them a major draw two years running.

I mean there's only one of them, but I think they still sell them?

Intamin ones are faaaar too tall.
 
Also I’m not sure the ground work as is currently seems to suggest a water coaster. Particularly the far side of the site but it may be a bit early?
 
If it is a Mack Water coaster I think a similar/clone of they new low to the ground launched model that’s opening up at Freizeitpark this year could be an option, I imagine less steal needed due to much lower supports required helping keep costs down and its opening at smallish park this year. However it’s still listed as €11.5 so still an expensive ride especially when combined with this years investment

Just did a quick comparison:

Skatteøen at Djurs Sommerland is 91.9ft / 28m tall and the footprint is roughly 150m x 35m.

The plot at Paultons is approx 180m x 45m.

Interestingly, "Skatteøen" is a cloned model. As well as Djurs Sommerland's (which was the first), there are also copies at Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark and Sea World Australia, which I think makes it even more likely for Paultons. Yep, pretty convincing, I think.
