2015 General Election
I disagree with the idea that public spending was too high. Modern governments run a lot on deficits. See this, for example: http://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/economics/government-deficit_gov-dfct-table-en. Some countries still run on a surplus but there are plenty with healthy economies that do not...- khalichanan

2015 General Election
Hi; my area of expertise is the post-war Attlee government. I'm currently writing my dissertation on it. There is a clear difference between socialism and social democracy. The money wasn't 'flowing in' from the USA as you make it sound like it did. It also came with various other complications...- khalichanan

2015 General Election
Those who genuinely think that Conservatives are the only ones who can be trusted to run the country are idiots and haven't done any political research. They probably also lack understanding of 20th Century history. There are arguments I can see for Conservative economic plans are valid and...- khalichanan

The Smiler - General Discussion
So, finally got my butt on to this thing, and somehow I managed to wrangle front row in the dark for my virgin voyage. Really enjoyed it, a really complete ride experience. It seemed to run really fast for me, and was super smooth too. Not quite a Nemesis in intensity, but I like how relentless...- khalichanan

Scarefest 2013: Discussion
Whatever the reasons for shortening the ride closes, this really isn't Merlin pushing for it. It will be the park itself.- khalichanan

[The Smiler] Construction Updates / Ride Speculation Part 2 *SPOILER FREE*
I understand why the queues are being caged. Frankly with how close those trains are going to be I'm rather glad! Can imagine people jumping over the top!! Have they changed the wheels on the trains? They look different but alas my computer is at uni, and I'm at my parents so can't get a good...- khalichanan

The Smiler will not open Meet PART TWO - Saturday 25th May
Re: Smiler Might Open Meet PART TWO - Saturday 25th May I'm of a similar mindset...if the Smiler's not open, will we be meeting at the usual 8.30am as if it were a standard meet?- khalichanan

[The Smiler] Construction Updates / Ride Speculation Part 2 *SPOILER FREE*
Re: Re: [The Smiler] Construction Updates / Ride Speculation Part 2 *SPOILER FREE* They put more investment into the restoration of the Castle than Tussauds ever did, and significantly more than it would get if it was in National Trust/English Heritage hands. Hopefully this will all mean...- khalichanan

[The Smiler] Construction Updates / Ride Speculation Part 2 *SPOILER FREE*
The way they run an historical attraction is good though and the castle is better off in the hands of Merlin than National Trust/English Heritage. There, I said it, the big elephant in the room today. I personally think we should wait and see if Alton Towers are going to say. They're probably...- khalichanan

[The Smiler] Construction Updates / Ride Speculation Part 2 *SPOILER FREE*
I fully respect that people are allowed to be annoyed, and if I was going that day I too would be annoyed. But it's the hysteria that seems unecessary. People can be negative all they want but perhaps what I'm not being clear about is how extreme it's gone. Perhaps I'm being misunderstood and...- khalichanan

[The Smiler] Construction Updates / Ride Speculation Part 2 *SPOILER FREE*
Considering no one else really is and I'm probably going to get a good deal of attacks for this, then I'd say it takes a bit of guts. Oh no, multi-million theme park must mean we can't sympathise with them. Why did no one tell me that before! I must make myself forget that this has the...- khalichanan

[The Smiler] Construction Updates / Ride Speculation Part 2 *SPOILER FREE*
Oh my goodness! It's a ride opening that's been delayed, nothing worse. We don't know the reason why and I'm inclined to give Towers the benefit of the doubt. They evidently felt pressured in giving an opening date because so many people were moaning that there was one not present, and put off...- khalichanan
